I'll agree with you that the Captain has evolved as a character. He looks a little deeper in to things and makes complicated decisions. I'm not saying he's making the right decisions, but it shows a character growth arc. Characters need to make mistakes and face struggles and overcome them in order to grow. I'm sure you've seen a romance film or romcom in which a couple does hurtful or careless things to each other. That's where the drama lies, but when they finally understand their mistakes and understand each other, getting back together with a stronger relationship, it can be very satisfying. So, it seems to me that the frustration you're feeling over his poor treatment of Lym is intentional, and there will be a payoff for your frustration. That's what makes OO better than many other simple harem games. It's not only a simple fanfic of Capt. James T. Picard on his continuing mission: to explore strange new pussy; to create new life and xeno-hybridizations.

I think you're conflating some different traits of Noel: sexual intimacy and emotional intimacy. She's not inexperienced in sexual intimacy. Noel was always flirtatious, sexually unreserved and adventurous. I wouldn't say she's inexperienced in emotional intimacy either, but she's shown to be more emotionally reserved for a couple of presumed reasons. She is clearly more open-minded to sexually sharing the Captain, which is helpful in such a game to have some girls to act as your harem missionaries.
Confusing sex and feelings in a porn game is a mistake we should all be mindful not to make.
