Like 3-4 pages back I made a comment about there being no ethical billionaire, and then the comment section did what it did. So someone on a pirate porn forum defended billionaires, and then things went further and further down the rabbit hole of 'define your terms!'

There's something very fucking ironic about a person on a forum focused on pirated porn games defending billionaires.
But yeah that also explains it.

There's no way to get a billion+ dollars (or hold onto it) that is ethical. You either exploit thousands or millions of people, or, if you inherit/awarded it, you selfishly hold onto more money than you would ever need. There's no good, moral, or ethical reason one person should have $1B. A good person would start giving a lot of it away, and then they wouldn't continue to be a billionaire.

Couldn't have said it better myself honestly. I think people simply don't understand just how absurd $1B is.
If you got a dollar every second, you would reach 1 million dollars in just about 12 days. It would take you 32 years to reach 1 billion.
On another note; if you spent 1000 dollars a day, it would take you 2 years and 9 months to spend 1 million dollars.
It would take you 2749 years to spend 1 billion.

It's so much more than you will ever feasibly need in any capacity for anything as a single human.

EDIT; in that last example, if we take Elon Musk's wealth, his bloodline could spend 1000 dollars a day for about ~700 millennia before running dry.

Though this is a good test of morality that applies even in this game which is the "X-men problem". How does the world fair when peoples base instincts don't change but their power does? Usually doesn't end well but things like the MTF have illustrated the problems of knee-jerk reactions.

I didn't defend billionaires I just pointed out the fact that depending on how strict you have to follow the ethics to be ethical nobody is really ethical when you boil it all down (excluding the very young). The only part that could be construed as defending billionaires would be were I said I wouldn't just judge them all equally that there are really bad billionaires and then there are a few that try and do what they believe is right for the world maybe misguided but if being miss guided makes you bad well we are all fucked.

Edit: to clarify I am sure they all believe they are doing what is best but a few are truly trying to do good things and not just being pos using their power just to make more money.

While I don't disagree with your premise (billionaires should use their money to help the less fortunate) can I ask where do you draw the line is it only billionaires that should do this what about hundred millionaires how about just millionaires what if you have $500 in your pocket and some ask you to give them $5 are you a bad person if you don't give them the $5.

I almost certainly will never be rich and I don't know anyone who could be considered rich so I have zero skin in the game and I don't want to play straw man because like I said at the beginning I do agree with your statement I guess I just am not a fan of blanket statements.

I also want to make clear that I do believe the vast majority of billionaire are greedy and only care about making more money which is sad cause in one hour they make more interest on their money then I will make in a year but that's life I guess.

You can talk about the relationship between morals and ethics and how laws are derived from morals and are thus ethical frameworks as they're externalized and whether they are more right than morals in general or just more powerful and how that power comes from consensus and whether consensus is even a valid source of morality at all and if so where does it breakdown and what of individuals who have more power from resources and the morality of how they came to those resources due to the near impossibility of relocating that volume of resources without exploiting either people or systems and whether systems deserve moral consideration somewhere else.

Going to be honest I couldn't follow that not sure if you are saying something really smart or I am just dumb (probably the latter but whatever), but your right I didn't mean to make it into a big thing it was a passing statement of curiosity.

What I really care about on this thread is when the next release comes out and how much further the story goes in the next one. I feel kind of bad that I sort of don't really care about the woman's story who can see peoples deepest desire. I mean I feel bad for her and I understand why we need to see it but out of everything else going on it's the thing I care least about. To me Amber is the best story at least right now then I would say I care about ruth's I hope the mc gets some major work on that (don't expect him to get the powers in the next 1 or 2 but I hope there is some solid gain). Past that I guess I would say maybe find out more about the sister or more with the rocks star and movie star I enjoyed their scenes they were really fun.


Maybe that is an unpopular opinion but that is the things I care most about in this game currently.

I mean atleast it has some relevance to the game given that it isn't exactly shy with the whole Big Deep State Shady and Big Pharma looming in the background, so F95 atleast did somewhat good.

I've seen far more nonsensical and irrelevant debates happen.
