I'm sure Parker has additional motives other than just altruism for MC, but that doesn't mean they are necessarily mutually exclusive. Remember that MC's parents, who Parker was close friends with, were killed when he was young and likely made to look like a murder suicide. It would not surprise me if they're somehow involved with the Superflu or MC's power.
