I have 2 main saves, an Isabella route with manipulate Lucia, and an Anna route with manipulate Lucia. Both turn down Moonsong at the start so first time is with Evelyn. I guess I need two more saves with normal Lucia before the next release.

Help Origin Story

Hey all!
I need your help in the run up to the Chapter 8 release to get Origin Story out there and to help drive those Steam wishlists higher. Though the initial 24 hours was awesome for watching them roll in, it plateaued way quicker than I was hoping for and now they're barely trickling in. For a great Steam release, I still need a SIGNIFICANT amount of wishlists before I can even work towards it getting it on there. A great Steam release means I may be able to cut my full-time job's hours. That means I have more time to work on that game. And that means, more updates, quicker.
I am working my ass off to make this game as quick as I can while working a full time job and being a husband and father at the same time. I sleep significantly less than I should be doing because I'm working on it until late, and even when I'm in bed I'm often not sleeping because I'm thinking about it. It prevents me from spending time with my wife. It takes time away from me from simple things like enjoying movies, TV shows, books and other games that a few years ago I had way more time for. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE making it... it's just very disheartening when I give so much of myself to it and then see other games that have significantly larger communities than Origin Story has, some worthy of it... many, IMO, not.
So... I need to get the game out there more... for all the obvious promotional reasons, but also to incentivize all those who ignore it for whatever reason. They ignore it because they can only see it as a "silly superhero game". They stay clear because they believe the vocal minority angry at one scene and are now peddling that the game is for fans of NTR, lesbian cucks, "sissification" (yep, an actual thing I saw on a review yesterday... can anyone show me anything that remotely resembles that in OS?) and that all the girls in the game are whores -even the numerous virgins apparently!. You have all the played the game, so you know none of this to be true, and I need your voices out there more to drown out theirs.
What can you do?
Reviews/Ratings:
Please, if you have not already, leave genuine reviews wherever you can. I'm not asking you to write a fake five star review. Even if you only think Origin Story is worthy of a three star, I will welcome that more than a troll 1 star review that trashes the game because of content that's not even in it and drags that average score down. Don't bash other reviews, just leave a genuine review of what you think of the game and the content that is actually in it.
Naturally, a good place to leave reviews is on , a place to discover AVNs, catalogue the ones you play, track your progress and keep yourself aware of updates. It's well worth checking out if you haven't already. Even if you can't leave a review, please just give it a rating and hit the love button. Everything helps.
You can even leave reviews at that other zoney place that I can't mention here. I can't deny that place gets a lot of eyes on Origin Story, and many of those eyes come to support it. But that's also the place where a lot of the aforementioned BS is peddled, so it could certainly use being balanced out.
And you can leave ratings on the though the reviews are not visible to the public there, so it is not worth spending your time on that, but the ratings help.
Naturally, when the steam version goes live, leaving reviews on there will be the biggest help of all, but that time will come later.
---
Word of mouth/recommendations:
Whenever the opportunity arises, talk about Origin Story wherever you can. Discord, reddit, forums, youtube comments on AVN reviews etc... Word of mouth is ultimately the best tool to get eyes on the game. When I stumble into other AVN discord servers and I see people talking about my game or recommending it to others, it means the world to me.
---
WISHLIST!!!:
If I were to assume that all of the wishlists that I have received so far are from members who follow me here (which is absolutely not the case), then there are still 1000 of you who have not wishlisted. I know not everyone uses Steam for AVNs or even at all, but if you have the ability to do so, and have not already, please wishlist the game on steam. Please! I BEG YOU!
---
Ok, that's it. For all those that actively try and get the word out there already for me, I appreciate you more than my words can express. And I still appreciate the rest of you just for playing the game and supporting me.
Now, if you're a paid supporter, come over to the art channel in the discord to find out what Evelyn is doing in the rest of that image!
Take care! Enjoy Chapter 8 and... naturally... the series of special renders to celebrate its release starting Monday.

I saw this game several times and decided not to play it. Not because of some bad reviews (it has 4.5 stars here!), it was because of the dev note and all his “I promise you the game is not what it seems to be, but I can't explain because of spoilers…”. So I thought where there is smoke, there is fire, and I avoided the game.

Despite that, I recently gave the game a chance, and guess what? I liked it. All reservations I had were completely unnecessary.

I believe the dev gives too much attention to a couple of trolls, and because of that, I almost missed a good game. Delete the dev notes, write a short notice about the difference between normal vs. safe mode, and ignore the trolls. I'm sure there are people with positive feedback and/or constructive criticism who would appreciate it if they would get your attention instead.

You either like the creative vision of this dev and their own, original, disclaimer, or you do not.

Giving them advice to essentially change their vision because - ”trust me bro, it will be fine” - not a good plan.

Borderlines 4 dev told eveyrone who ever has a problem running the newly released game they are to blame.
If dev decides who to listen to, there is never any criticism period, as nobody wants dissenting opinions.

Wishlisted, but it's bad that Steam release is not the same as Chapter 8 release. It would be a great motivation to buy the game that just updated, by the time we will get it on Steam most fans would already complete first season :-/

Also I strongly don't like breaking the game into seasons, especially if it would be separate games in library, instead of just DLCs.

If developer want the game to do well on Steam first thing they should do is not to treat Steam users as second grade customers, which means updates at the same time, news and Cloud Saves.
Piracy is a service issue and paid copy of the game should always be better and easier accessible than free one.

I would probably get it anyway just to support dev, because I already like the game, but yeah would be nice to have proper release with actual perks for legit buyers.

He kinda bring it on himself by flirting with NTR crowd, and being edgy about it. And now he cries it backfired resulting customers loss, who would have thought

Early access is also used by AAA 400 MIL already invested devs to drive hype up while releasing closed betas with microtransactions, so the little indy devs are caught with their pants down as even those betas are huge compared to what a small dev can provide. So a season is a good offering, not a beta, not early access, just a finished first season.
Patreon or other monthly subscriptions are a fundraising model for games in development, so of course they get a further along product but with bugs and in an unpolished state - as a model, even if the dev releases a good product with minimal to no bugs already in alpha or beta and the subscribers end up having the actual full experience that the Steam crowd might want as their own exciting perk.

You have options, this is what this site is. Many AAA games, just look at Borderlines 4, are practically unplayable for many players and other sites such as this one, who have modders and skilled players who know how to tweak and enhance the experience, this is a chance to actually play a game that you bought but your device cannot actually run, when using the help provided by other players.

And this is why I never buy something like Borderlands 4 and vote with my wallet against such slop. Tbh it's customers fault too for buying trash games from trash developers.
For intelligent people it should be enough when they changed ToS for BL2 and added spyware, to ignore any future Gearbox games.

If you compare revenue Patreon is more of a tip jar before you actually start selling your game on digital stores. And yeah I'm ok with Patreon getting bugged betas and teasers, but releases should happen simultaneously, meaning no waiting for complete next season to be out. Also nothing wrong with "early access" for indie games it's fair for the customers and even allows refund at any time if the game is abandoned.

I'm sure he'd like to release the game on Steam for Chapter 8 at the same time, but realistically that would mean a lot of waiting around for Steam to complete their review process, and participating Patreon supporters would have to wait months longer to get an already-completed Chapter 8. Assuming it does well on Steam, I suspect it might be more timely going forward.

That said, it sounds like Steam might be ending Early Access as an option for adult games, so Seasons (either as stand-alone or DLC) or complete games might soon be the only way AVNs can be sold there.

It's worth noting that Seasons can actually be set up to be DLCs. There is at least one game I know where "Season" 2 is a DLC for the first.

I feel silly doing this, but I'm at the scene at the MC-kun wakes up to Moonsong looking for some action and action has barely just started but I had to tab out and come to say holy shit, I'm just so incredibly impressed with the renders. The camera angles, the expressions, the devilishly low panties... It's all so incredibly, perfectly erotic. I've played so many AVNs at this point and many look amazing but I've never been quite this smitten. ♥ ♥ ♥

If you're going full pokemon you should say no to Moonsong at the first ;)

Funnily enough, for some reason this was the one time in my life I did have a feeling that might be the case.
And frankly? I don't care, that scene could cure cancer. Plus, I'm sure Amber would approve. And Riley will probably go straight into "additional routes I'd like to do but will never get my lazy ass to." Don't think I particularly care for anyone else.

FYI, the game is harem. You don't need to pick individual routes. You can just pick one... but you will miss a lot of content, including probably some content with the LI you pick (group sex scenes often require you to be on multiple paths). And you don't really get any benefit from going solo, unless it's just strong personal preference.

Also, just in case you haven't actually gone back and declined Moonsong, you really should at least once. But if you're still hesitant, I'll spoil it a bit and say if you decline her, you still get a sex scene with her right then. But it's a different threesome scene with Evelyn, who proves she is without a doubt the best possible harem queen/girlfriend for MC ;).

Good to know, harem games are sometimes, like, pick one or all, but nothing between. Glad I can do all the ones I want to.
Nah, it's not an "all or none" thing here. You can choose which LIs you want to try to pursue individually. It's also pretty straightforward decisions in most cases so far (I paraphrase, but it's pretty much a "Am I interested in pursuing a relationship with <LI>? Yes/No").

Branching is starting to get a bit more complicated with some side LIs and individual scenes, but I suspect with most of the main LIs, there won't be major "gotcha" moments or anything like that.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

> Plays stupid mindgames.
> Wins stupid prize.
> Is utterly shocked by it. Hysterical, actually.
> Zero self-awareness. Zero self-reflection.
> Blames it on the guy.

I also need to applaud the exceptionally realistic character design.
