yeah the quality matters,but as was already pointed out,its more about the placement(timing) and them being there at all.

if the animation breaks attention for someone it also breaks the immersion,its easy to understand some people don't like it.
Lewd scenes being animated is normal,a few people use them in action/combat/travel ,everything else is mainly a distraction IMO.

if they want to animated everything might as well make a movie with VA's etc.

I enjoy animations but it depends on the devs skill level. I would rather the dev not use animations if they lack the skill too, or they want to rely on AI.

there are rare exceptions where i feel like the animations are an add to the avn, but yeah generally not a value add with a huge amount of extra dev time to add them.

the ones where they are just an incredibly slow pan up/down of a LIs body, are the worst... completely rip me out of the story, and feel like they take so long to finish... and then one screen later you can see the LIs whole body anyway, rather than being super zoomed in on her ankles, then her knees, then her hips, then her belly, then her etc etc etc

Especially when it's unskippable... But generally speaking, unskippable animations of any kind are too intrusive. Sometimes I like to watch them, often not - or at least not for as long as the dev intends me to.

I just finished playing a quick update of Her Desire and I thought the animations there were done really well. It's one of a small handful of games that I think is doing it right most or all of the time, and wrong none or next to none of the time.

I'll be honest though, to get back to this game, I would welcome animations if they are done well. But does not having them take anything away for me? Absolutely not.

Yeah, the only tags the Dev controls are the one under the "spoiler" in the OP and there was never a "Animation" tag there.

that's why I used the quotes, it's not a real animation but it was unskippable and slow as fuck as she climbed in etc... at the end of one of the early chapters, 2 or 3 maybe?

Nah, I'm taking about in Chapter 1 when you can look at the flashback pictures. There's exactly one actual animation during the memory of the July 4th party where Amber gives MC a handjob, but it's like a 2 second loop.

However, Cat is being shipped to the farm so Marina helped to ruin, maybe even end, her life. I can't feel any kind of empathy towards Marina for that.
