Just wanted to say that the whole point of Lucia's backstory is she already knows what that feels like due to years of being treated that way because of the camp prank. But unlike Evelyn, she didn't have friends to support her, so she built her armor and bitchy persona to keep others at a distance instead.

It happens in chapter 1 with Kyle in the park. He confronts 3 guys who he knows are big time bullies (and bigger/stronger than him) to stop them beating the shit out of that kid; they beat the shit out of him too for his trouble. Then after the survivors run away he goes and sits with Mr. Thermonuclear Device, knowing he could get killed the same way as the bully, and calms him down until what he thinks the good guys come to help him. He also stands up to the most popular bitch in school who he knows can cause him misery to help out a total stranger, and then steps up again with a teacher and the dean to help her out.

Who exactly is walking all over him? The ones with powers who can turn him into a smear of high-protein minestrone with a thought? That seems to be the prudent thing to do for a guy with no powers most of the time, yet he still stands up for people who can't defend themselves against those people. I guess you are just a bigger tough guy than him.

even when he gets his powers he is not supposed to use them in public, so he doesn't, so yeah, he gets sucker punched in the bar, but again, why? Standing up against bullies/assholes.

He doesn't really get better, up until the end of Chapter 8 when Lady Steel has her fight with Chokehold. Unfortunately it's too little too late for us. Maybe he'll grow a spine in later Chapters.




He does so as a kid, when he's up against bullies, yes. But I also got the feeling with him that he could have taken a much more active role (physically in particular) with the story.

Maybe it's more in the way he does it - rather stupidly, instead of thinking how best to attack a situation. Chapter 8's conclusion is a perfect example of this, when he's almost killed attacking Chokehold without any powers whatsoever. He's not exactly portrayed as a smart guy.

What game did you play? Before chapter 8's conclusion, he stood up for Kyle, Cat, Lake and Ev, in all cases he risked his personal safety to stand up for them. I'm not sure how he can be classed as lacking a spine at all.

I didn't even realise the love route existed until this last update. So I ended up going back and doing a fresh run again to try it. And it's now taken over as the main run for me. Such good shit honestly.

praise URM, that's how I realized what a difference that choice makes. I initially didn't have a non-manipulate save either, but a while back I checked out what that variable does, now it's my canon route for her, it's a much more satisfying story compared to some extra lewds.

and what power should he have used, pray tell. He saw the whole fight and the "conversation" with Ruth. Wolf is useless. Cat's is useless and he can't even use it consciously yet. Emerald's is useless (he only does it out of desperation at the end as he is about to die and then only accidentally finds her weak spot). He could blast her in the face and Chokehold would shrug it off. The outcome would have been the same in any case.

Any power really. I would have chosen Emerald's to blind her temporarily, to get Steel out of the cage. Him jumping on her back was just the epitome of stupidity - she's literally a tank. What he did served as a story mechanism to ferret out her weakness, but it was really, really stupid of him to try. Hell - he could even have used his wolf to temporarily distract her. Or maybe used the create item ability to put shackles on her legs holding her in place (they supposedly don't move unless he moves them).

Lots of options, but he did the one most likely to get him killed. Not smart.

Many characters in the game, from a verbal perspective. I can't count the number of times I would have walked away from a conversation while in his place. That's probably the biggest weakness I see from him, much more so than physical. From a physical action perspective, he's more stupid and brave than effective. But "spineless" can be attributed to his conversations with others just as much as anything else. It's a general feeling I got from him - he's not a super wimp, just not assertive at all.

he was behind her, and I don't think it blinds people... even if they gain a few seconds that ain't gonna save them
the wolf does nothing to her, she just kills both anyway with a punch (granted I don't know if the wolf can die without MC dying but the point is moot)
even if he shackled her hands (why would he go for the legs), she will just choke out (lmao) Ruth anyway, her hands were already there.
There was literally no scenario in there where they would walk away, regardless what he does (except not going into the ring)

Yeah, you can find a middle ground. But being able to laugh at yourself and not letting inconsequential stuff like that stick to you is also a powerful thing that takes self-confidence to do.

It's also indicated that Parker is unaware of how sound travels through the house, we know she's paranoid about MC finding out about her masturbating and is sure he doesn't know about it, but we also know that MC has caught Parker masturbating at least once. We also have no clue whether Parker is aware of MC's crush, in fact all indications are that she is totally unaware so she isn't bringing guys back to make him jealous. What would he do if he wasn't spineless in your view? That would be out of character for the AVN. A big theme of the AVN and MC's character is not shaming women for being sexual.

I'm sure MC might eventually call Riley a slut. But only after they're fucking, and if she likes it. See Evelyn and Emerald for example.
