It would be less popular among guys, but it would be fairly popular among girls. And there's a middle ground between PG-13 and X-rated content, called M-rating. And I have no doubt it would do fine as M-rated visual novel with various plot twists. Most characters are very compelling and relatable on their own. Just look at Ivy or Holly. The most popular girls here are Cindy, Holly and Ivy, none of whom had any X-rated scenes yet.

But also, I don't understand why this would have to be exclusive. Eva is known for having lots of paths in her games. Some want to have wholesome, faithful run. Why would that be a problem when you can still have your degenerate Lena/Ian path and all the flavors in between ?

BloodyMares doesn't tell there is a problem. He says there are multiple ways to play those games.

I'm not sure the rating is in question. But, finally, i agree with the fact some people search for a kind of romance.

Personally, i enjoy the games when the story is interesting. But if sex is boring, i prefer watching tv !

I'm pretty sure a large majority of users are searching for animallistic sex and perversion, and only a few for romance at first.

I'd go and say that maybe Ians scenes are Vanilla because it is early in the game and he is vanilla. then possibly you could take him in a direction were he is much more of a playboy and much more careless about his sexual actions.
