Having 3d renders in DAZ (animations in particular) can take up an enourmous amount of time, but 2d work is compartitively much quicker, plotting the story, the paths and then coding it all so that it doesn't blow up in your face is what is tricky. People often complain about "choices matter" game, but they rarely consider just how much work branching paths make. 6 sequential Binary choices within a game makes for 64 pathways, which clearly is insane, so typically the way to deal with this is to have the paths fork and rejoin the main thrust of the story, if you have zero reactivity and each fork is just an optional detour which leads to (often sexy) scenes (which a fair number of games do) then it is easy, but ORS doesn't so this, there is massive levels of reactivity based on choices, for instance, if Ian goes with Holly to book expo and gets with her, Lena will instinctively back off even though she wants to kiss Holly, and while it is "just a bunch of variables" which need to be set with some dialogue, it quickly becomes hellishly complicated as the number of permutations increases, and the more casual details you throw in, the more complcated it gets, all these little things then have to be tested and you have to make sure that the narrative flows reguardless of what choices you make, and then you have "fun" task of debuging and testing each route.

Exactly. 2D/3D doesn't matter provided the art/storyline is good. I like EK's artwork. I even happen to like GGB artwork too.

Not really, which is why nowadays you see mostly 3d-rendered animation instead of hand-drawn 2d in children tv etc.
A single hand-drawn frame can take as much time as it takes to setup and produce entire (short) animation in 3d.

3D and AI can never be compared to 2D especially a hand drawn. I was into anime style until it's now same and 3D is getting recycled too. AI is AI.
I don't disagree, but with 3d renders, you could pose something and then get artifacts, weird lighting glitches, which cause you to have to re-render the entire thing, and while it is true that you might draw something in 2d that you just can't get to look right, you can usually just erase.
While ORS does have some animations, they tend to be just a few frames. To be fair, a number of Daz projects do the same, but others go the whole hog and have much greater levels of animation, which if they go wrong can be a total disaster if the whole lot is borked because of an errant shadow or series of artifact glitches, you might be able to correct it in post with photoshop (or similar) products, or you might not.
simply stating i think a certain character is a slut isnt complaining nor is it slut shaming. god forbid i state my opinion smh. you assumed a lot with this comment and made a wide generalization. i dont even know who "these types of players " are. youre acting as if there's some sort of hive mind of players who all do the same thing. but yea, i wasn't complaining, i have no issues with how cindy has been portrayed in the game. just because i think her actions make her slut, doesn't mean im shaming her for it. actually, i love her for it. so please, stop interoperating what i said to fit whatever issues you have with people who complain about this stuff. stop putting words in my mouth. stop jumping to conclusions and making assumptions.I don't know what these type of players want. They complain when the dev won't let female characters "slutting" it up with everyone but also complain when they are "slutting" it up from the start. Seriously, I wonder how would these type of guys get any sex if there wasn't any prostitution and women demanded to be married before they have sex like an earlier times. Most guys are getting sex easily today.

These past few days I’ve been working on several fronts at once, which might be why progress has felt a bit slow. I finished writing the first block of the script, and almost all of the art is ready (just waiting for the colorist to send me the last batch of illustrations so I can give them the final touch).
Since most of you said you’d rather play as much content as possible at once, I’ve been prioritizing progress on the script, and I’m already working on the second block, writing, planning, structuring, and prepping the art.
Over the past few days, I managed to finish one of the spicy scenes and push forward with the plot and character interactions, unraveling the tangle of threads and ideas that make up this new chapter.
Little by little, this event, which has been floating around in my head since the inception of this project, is finally taking shape.
While moving, I dug up and brought with me this little notebook where I first started sketching out what would become Our Red String, back in 2019. Every now and then I flip through it to see how far the early ideas that shaped my vision for this project have come.
Sometimes even I’m surprised by the sheer amount of code and illustrations that make it up, and how much more is still left to do. The most frustrating part is how long it takes me to develop new content, but I feel a responsibility to do justice to all the work that’s come before, and I hope to bring the story to a close in the most satisfying way I can. But for now, all I can do is keep taking each of the steps that remain, one by one. I can’t wait to publish the next update, and over the next few weeks I’ll keep working hard to make that happen as soon as possible.

I am fine with it tbh. Instead of getting 15mins or below worth of gameplay. I'd pick the longer dev times with a good amount of play time per update.
I'm fine with it where it makes sense. Releasing this whole trip in one go makes a ton of sense, so take the extra time and run it that way.
The release schedule that has always made the most sense to me is Prologue > First POV > Switch POV > Optional third POV switch >Epilogue. Just release in those large chunks, whatever the time that takes, it takes. Trying to do a full chapter is too long of a wait, but six updates in a row of one POV probably means we're not getting much content for each update either. Even then, that release schedule has issues. We can look to the beach house event taking almost an entire chapter from just Ian's POV. So how would EK reconcile that type of a schedule for that?
Ultimately the best solution is for EK to continously provide solid updates about where they're at with their work. Which to EK's credit, has been much better than it was during chapters 10 and 11.

According to Chapter 14.1 Status Report (5) the update will only be the first two of three days of the Billy event.
Yes, and perhaps I've misunderstood the last few updates and what the patrons were asked their opinions on. But it was my understanding that the whole trip is now going to be one release. Originally the three days were going to be across two releases. Now, it's going to be one larger update. That same update is the same in which EK asks the patrons their preference.

So, if it's going to be a long update, does that mean there will be a lot sex scenes? Any predictions? I'm still hoping for Lena's FMM!

People talking about longer update and bigger. I Still don't think this update will be all that special, because it is just the Billy photoshoot.
Which means, most of the scenes and events will be with random characters for the most part which I don't care about, or routes that I don't care to fully explore.
Honestly, wish this was a shorter update, so we can get back to city and characters there, that I actually care about. Here what do I have to look forward to. Maybe a text messge/phone call, maybe a Ivy scene.

i agree, all the good stuff are back in the city. (Minerva my love or Cindy or Alison or Cherry or Emma or bad Jessica or Holly or Agne... nope ) Filler update for me being more interested in Ian pov but i expect to see Ivy geting fucked before Ian does it. we will have for sure multiple scenes, solo, MMF, FMF sex scenes etc. what am i looking forward is a save i have in wich i told Ivy to not fuck Jeremy and Lena giving him the cold sholder but he can have that silhouette i gues..
So i just had this wild thought. What if Ivy as her first ever sex gets to fuck one of those one-shot new characters, who just happens to be a cameo paid by SerHawkes...

My interpretation is different. Chapter 14.1 Status Report (5) EvaKiss asks her patreons, "Would you like me to consider releasing this first chunk on its own once I’ve received and finalized the graphic assets? Or do you prefer getting as much content as possible all at once". So she is talking about releasing Day 1 as a seperate update. Patreons declined so I think we are back to the original plan with 2 updates.
But she is prone to changing plans in the last minute so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
As for predictions, Lena/Ivy is basically promised. Lena can tell Ian she's going to hook up with her. Also Ivy has been talking about hooking up with Jeremy for nearly the whole game, so that's bound to happen, too. It's also likely Ivy will ask Lena to join. Besides this it is hard to say. Apparently there will be 3 new characters plus Billy. Any combinations of these is pure guesswork.
My prediction is that Day 1 will be just them settling in. Lena/Ivy will arrive early evening, hang at the pool then settle for the night. As Ivy and Lena are likely to share a room that would be the perfect time for this Lena/Ivy, Ivy/Jeremy, Lena/Ivy/Jeremy scenes.
Day 2 will be the arrival of the new characters and the photoshoot. Day 3 will be a big party to finish the event off (think GGGB Tyrone's poolparty)
