Well, there's nothing surprising about that, Stan's path is the path of a socially awkward guy who got a hot girl and succeeded with her by some magic, going to the gym to try get a certain girl to like you because SHE TOLD YOU SO is the ultimate simp mindset "maybe she's gonna like me more"My my main point is that the Stan improvement route is badly written and not realistic. Lena tells him to hit the gym, he does it exclusively to please her instead for himself, misssing the entire point of long term self-improvement. If nothing else happens, then we could very well get an even more unrealistic development of Stan turning out like Eric and magically getting Lena, just because he hit the gym.
By comparison, Bernards redemption in GGGB was better. He improved by attending job interviews, not giving up after one, and there was a longer development going on throughout the game (instead of Stan starting in chapter 11), relating to several issues (not going after his wife, keeping the house and himself clean).
