It's not so much that men as a whole are used interchangeably but more that Eva does it a lot with specific characters. It's been done with Ian-Robert-Mike-Mark for a while and now John is added to that list. They all have lighter skin and similar base builds, as in height and width where Eva can change them slightly to account for hair, faces and muscle differences.
