It might be true only on F95 though, cause big majority of Eva's Patreon base prefers Lena as protagonist over Ian.
Idk how true that info is but id wager there's more of us free folk than there are patreon subscribers. :BootyTime:
Skylark21 is right.

I prefer playing as Lena: 49%
I like playing both equally: 34%
I prefer playing as Ian: 17%

It seems that in the future games with male protagonist played by men will be rare and female protagonist games played by men will be common. There's a poll on this site that shows female protagonist games supassed male protagonist by votes. https://f95zone.to/threads/female-protagonist-vs-male-protagonist.23832/ It's peculiar to me because when I was a little girl boys mocked girls for playing with Barbie dolls. Today, men transition into women more via sex change. Times really changed.

Hey, I have a sexless save, and Lena tells Jeremy that she’s in an open relationship with Ian and that they discussed it during the beach trip. That whole conversation seems more appropriate for the cuck route than the sexless route. I’m not sure if it’s an error or if that’s the intended direction for this route.
Edit: I remember now, she said friends with benefits and thats not what happens in that route at all. Seems like a mistake.

Hmm? I wasn't talking about Patreon.

Vocal minority just like people on this thread (including me) are a vocal minority.

Porn games are a business. I promise you, if most dudes wanted to play women first in AVNs, we would have seen an absolutely massive surge of such games because of the demand already.

A popular game genre appears and you instantly see a trillion copycats replicating the story and main gameplay loop. In any market where competitors can exist you're gonna see those.

I know. I already explained why and Ian is mainly if he's in some scene with a female character or a part of a threesome and gangbang. Like I said, that thread is full of naked female characters, lesbian scenes and BBC.
Right, I could have left that thread out of my response, the example of this thread alone was enough.

Not that deep its just eye candy for men you wont see men playing otome games or with average looking women these tend to flop

Honestly, you didn't get my post, and mentioning the fanart thread has caused all manner of havok. As a COUNTER POINT to the post I was replying to, it makes perfect sense....
No, even then it didn't make perfect sense.

Ian is a player surrogate for most dudes. That's why he's so "average" and so malleable. Because you can play him as wimpy or masculine as you want him be. He's a baseline, your own damn projection into the game. He's not supposed to win a popularity contest because he's your POV. Of course people will be more invested into the characters they get to fuck and romance in the game and of course those characters will be female. Fucking Sonia would be more popular than Ian if she was a legit LI.

Be a whore with Lena. Simple as that.:BootyTime:
Turns out it was because i trash talked about the outfit, I just wanted to pick that option to rub it in Ivy's face, I'm not really interested in anything with Billy.
It doesn't happen or at least not yet, Even if they are in an open relationship and Lena makes a move on Jeremy he will turn her down

Majority of people who vote there didn't thought ahead. They imagine a man and a woman and obviously want to see the woman naked and have sex, not the dude. However, female MCs mean that most love interests are dudes. Lesbian scenes with girls are a minority and the only appealing character is usually the female MC. Now, they are ideally heavily customizable and that's certainly the appeal of those games.

Meanwhile, with a male MC, you have the entire world open to you. Every love interest will be female (bar the niche gay ones), hence among the most popular ones are harem/conquest/collection type of games.

Ok, last post on this. Like the poster I was rebutting, you assume most people playing are roleplaying. It has nothing to do with how well written or maliable Ian is. I like him just fine as a character, but I don't imagine I am him or Lena, just like I don't pretend I'm 'insert title character for any AAA game' when I play, or Deadpool while watching... Deadpool. I hope that eases your mind.

Roleplaying can be part of it, but doesn't have to. What's more crucial is to self-insert yourself in the sex scenes and relationship with the girls, regardless of if you play a faceless generic stand-in or a more fleshed out character with some personality.

One way to do this is to really piss off Jeremy so he is no longer friendly with Ian, and Lena needs to be in cheater mode, or cucking Ian. Even if Lena is cheating/cucking Ian, Jeremy will refuse if he has even a few points of friendship. The dialog in the lastest update is kind of interesting if you get to this point. To do this you have to start very early with making Jeremy hate Ian, there aren't a lot of opportunities to be a dik to Jeremy.

I keep asking these stupid questions but the choices in this game are hard to figure out and the guide is way too big for me, so can anyone please tell me how to get Ian and Lena in an Open relationship without any of them cheating or opening the relationship because they found out one of them cheated. Thanks in advance

I'm not assuming, I'm stating. :BootyTime: this baseline logic applies to almost all hyper popular genres like earth-dweller comic heros and nekketsu shonen MCs. Same reason Shojo manga have female MCs. Same reason minorities want some healthy level of representation in media. Being able to relate to MC and their situation is the most powerful way to tie the knot with a consumer.

This is doubly true for a porn game.

Self-inserting isn't roleplaying. Most people don't roleplay. Most people do self-insert in some fashion though.

My mind is now at ease. :BootyTime:
