Does Alison's route have to involve Jeremy somehow, or is it optional? Nothing against him, or at least not yet, but I want to know what I'm getting into a bit here. I'm asking because I saw the screenshot for what I presume is a threesome and I want to know if it's just a one off or if there's something else going on.

You basically need to commit to her from the start to keep Jeremy away from her. If you want her love route you can't get with Cindy either.

So far it appears that you can set the boundary however you like. You have to stick with Alison as Ian to have a say, and not go with other women over her, but you can do the threesome and then conclude not to repeat it and continue the romance normally.
It seems you might be able to suggest further threesomes and keep the romance going, but the route hasn't reached a second threesome to confirm the surival of the romance past that yet. I would assume that you can keep it going in that direction if you like though.
I mean... I would assume I shouldn't get with anyone else at all, not just Cindy right?

You can have sex with Alison and others at the same time. To romance her you have to pick her over other options at least, though I don't recall if you have to end routes with other female characters manually to keep it going. I usually stick to one romance at a time as Ian, so it's been a while since I tested their conflict points myself.

The Alison romance path does not blend well with Cindy, Cherry, Emma and Holly. You can fuck Lena and others including slutty Holly.
edit: this is why I rarely play the Alison romance path cause my Ian is a hoe and and he needs to spread his seed far and wide

Well I was being cheeky I'm well aware it's not gonna be most people cup of tea. I like that if she is with Jeremy she let's him (and therefore Ian by extension) go raw, also I am a big fan of nipple piercings which is also Jeremy's doing. Probably none, since EK is (most likely) Spanish and the city seems to be modeled more after european cities, than the U.S. Ther're even traced images of Spanish politician(s) making appearances as the local political figures.
Baluart is designed to be an ambiguous city; it could easily be an American or a European city. Some things we know about the city:
- It's a university city, with a strong focus on arts and culture.
- It's a medium-sized city, but an economic and cultural engine for the region (Lena's parents live in another city, and Lena and Ivy moved to Baluart as soon as they could).
- It has high-speed trains and is well connected to other cities.
- It's a few hours from the coast.
- It has large green areas, and the characters don't need to use the car.
- It has an old-guard leftist mayor for the last four years.
- It's a university city, with a strong focus on arts and culture.
- It's a medium-sized city, but an economic and cultural engine for the region (Lena's parents live in another city, and Lena and Ivy moved to Baluart as soon as they could).
- It has high-speed trains and is well connected to other cities.
- It's a few hours from the coast.
