Leah had just walked out of earshot of him in Ch11 when he said it, otherwise she probably would have.

The only other people who heard him say it are Jamie (Who at that point is desperately trying to seem manlier near him and starts cursing a ton as a result) and Sarah (Who, as her latest side story in Ch31 shows, doesn't really understand curse words that aren't threats.)

Really? I remember one scene that stood out. Can't remember which chapter it was, but it was just when the whole team was together after he makes up with vic and just had Kieran show up. She got chased off by vic and then CJ says bye and the word and noone says anything. I am pretty sure there were a lot more people there at that point aside from jamie and sarah. I understood why those two didn't say anything. Or am I misremembering things here?

About the other thing. Like I said I think it's handled pretty well. It's not portrayed as sexy in any way, noone is having a good time, everyone reacts with the appropriate shock and horror at what happened. And I don't hate Vic for it, just wanted to comment on the unreliable narrator thing.

i cant believe we are once again playing "characters in videogames needs to be Politically correct" on a PIRACY site of all places.
its not that big of a deal, not even close. Slurs have been used between close friends from ages. Saying stupid stuff to your best friends is usually signal of how close you are to them, you know you can say or call them stupid stuff, because they know you dont mean it. They will say the same to you the next day.
Also, just because a word (or words) have a certain negative weight in your country, doesnt mean they have the same weight in other contries... or continents. I could say the hard N word here in Spain and not a single person would even know its suposed to be something bad.
Same happens for this tall gaijin named CJ, im sure 90% of the population in Japan will not be able to understand what the hell is he talking about, even less than one of those words will upset someone in a different continent.
For the logic of some of the people (not now, but earlier in the game dev) CJ should feel offended each time somebody called him puppy or idiot. You know.. the... Twitter user way of thinking.

It's not about character being politically correct, it's about characters being consistent. But there's really no point trying to explain that to someone who thinks endearingly calling someone puppy is the same as calling someone a slur.

Which is a totally fair take.

The importance of the scene is that it tells you that the game is going to be playing some absolutely absurd premises completely straight and that while you and I both know it's a joke, to the characters it's entirely serious. Almost everything that comes after that is much more easily accepted because well, it may be weird but it's not Chad Thundercock in the clouds weird.

playing it straight and fully committing is the only way to handle absurdity, one of my favourite games is non-stop insanity and it only works because the narrative is committed to taking it as deadly seriously as it possibly can.

That said there's a few things this could use:
-whenever CJ is not on screen everyone should be asking where he is at all times
-a fishing minigame
-a lot of repetition (everything should cost a lot of money and take forever to get)
-CJ needs to be a blank slate self-insert
-H scenes need to be like crates in old FPS, as many as early as possible. Make the "story" fit them and not the other way around

and so on

That gives me a few great ideas as well:
- A saints row like mechanic where you have to get an increasing number of sex scenes after each chapter to proceed to the next. Great for story pacing.
- A fishing minigames, but instead of fish, you catch mermaids and then they have sex with CJ.
- A crane-minigame, but you get presents, which you give girls who immediatly have sex with CJ.
- Every time one or more women are in a scene they should incessantly compare their breats sizes with each other and talk about them at lenghth.
- Scenes were one woman grabs another woman's breasts make for hilarious comedy. They should be repeated as often as possible. Idealy during dramatic story moments to lighten things up.
- Every time you enter open sections that allow you to travel between locations, each time travelling should require you to successfully finish a minigame in which you need to catch up to a train.

Not really connected to anything, but I fail to mention that that scene with Jamie and CJ filling a questionnaire is pretty much the best casual interaction between the two of them. I hope there's more where it came from.

Yeah I'd say it's the casual interactions (between everyone!) that make the whole thing great, and something storytelling games with a good cast don't always do enough of. Because everyone will have different dynamics with different people and it's interesting to see how that plays out.

That's the primary purpose for the side stories, I want to keep the main story pretty focused and well paced so sometimes it's hard to fit in those little moments.

Yeah I'd say it's the casual interactions (between everyone!) that make the whole thing great, and something storytelling games with a good cast don't always do enough of. Because everyone will have different dynamics with different people and it's interesting to see how that plays out.

Thankfully we've got much more to come, so plenty to look forward to!

Something that's been a background radiation throughout my porn game playing experience has been that in a great harem-romance game the love interests shouldn't just feel like they're all married to the MC, they should feel like they are all married to each other (not *necessarily* in a romantic sense).

So believe me when I say this game was like crack for me.

Oh shoot, looks like Itch's Butler tool doesn't keep my folder names when I push a release through it.

I think I can just include a little text file in the main folder with the current version number with the next build.
