officially it used to be called hermaphrodite personally I find it better but with the current political correctness its turned into intersex which while pc isn't as well known and doesn't have any lore/history hermaphrodite comes from Hermaphroditus who was a Greek god who as per legend was said was generically both genders and the term futanari is more open then you might think there are multiple types of futanari as it is quite literally just Japanese for hermaphrodite its just the most commonly depicted has both bottom parts but there's variation a woman body with only a penis a male body with only a vagina and naturally a male or female body with both all fit the term its aspects/dna that matters with the term not depth of the aspects just that both genders are included.

Secondly, why should the developer stick with the existing framework of the futanari gender? Also yes, futas are based on (the real world) hermaphrodites/intersex, although futas are often depicted as dickgirls (so without a vagina) in games like this. So honestly, who cares? It's all fictional anyway. I'm sure that the developer will deepen the term femine in future releases of the game.

There is another angle with genitalia that often overlooked, anal.
Like if you make a futa game with both genitalia and decided they gonna get dicked the chances of anal drop drastically with vagina, at least i rarely see it in those kind of games.
I personally don't care either way, but to me futa look weird if there is no balls for example, but that never a deal breaker or worth complaining about.

Yes, clearly Lewtopia decided to not use the word futanari to avoid the usual shitshow when it's used for characters with female body and cock but no vagina.
They aren't transwomen, as they are born with such bodies.
The words shemale or dickgirl could have been used, but they are pejorative.
So, coming with a new word seem the better.
