Anyone else think that playing the MC as a "good guy" is maybe way inconsistent with the character? After the Katherine scene in the new update, it really drives through that the MC has serious anger, sociopathic tendencies, and a serious sadistic streak (sexually and otherwise).

We know already that Katherine is a pure psychopath, with no ability to feel emotions other than vicariously, and is both a sexual sadist as well as being generally sadistic and malevolent. The fact that she sees that same tendencies in the MC is very telling, as she is a very perceptive person. If you choose to let it off the leash, it's clear that there is truth in this.

The character buries and masks a lot (his mom's past, which obsesses him, yet he can't even put it into words; his violent streak, which is how he befriended Ian; etc.). He likes to seem like a good guy, but is it self-delusional? Is it playing pretend to fit in?
Wait, do you mean Kathleen? The club manager? And was there a new scene with her in this update? What was the scene? I don't know if I forgot it, missed it, or what, but it isn't ringing any bells.

Edwin gets a visit from Kat after Rose moves out of the apartment, if you've chosen to visit Kat after the exhibition instead of one of the girls.

Ah, gotcha. Unless I was working backwards to get a gallery scene I would never make that choice.

So the Edwin that wants to hang out with the sociopath is more fucked up than every other version of Edwin? Is that about the sum of things?

I recall an older scene where Kat tried to tease out Edwin's sadistic side. Too much S for my taste. Much prefer the softer dom stuff. So I can imagine him going back to her for a deeper talk could get very fucked up. Yikes. Yeah, I'm not feeding that wolf in Edwin, k'bye! /s

Not so much a more fucked version, as it shows it to you more clearly. The fucked upness is still all in there.

Yup, it's for the Edwin who gets to be Kat's willing sadist apprentice, getting in touch with his dark wants etc.
I would argue he's less a apprentice and its more like kat luring Edwing true and fucked up self out. Shes less encouraging him to behave in a certain way and more urging him to simply do as he feels and wants. And it is a pretty fucked up version of Edwin on this path, guy has issues :ROFLMAO:

That's not a debate I'll get into without extensively defining terms, like 'fucked upness.'

Did you see the scene with Rosalind on the couch this update? The very romantic and domestic side of Edwin was very strong. I don't think his sadistic side is necessary to his character, he just has the potential. Same for his caring and romantic side.

Not in the least. No one who chose to go and meet Kathleen is playing the good guy path.

So, what are you talking about, bro?

You are describing an Edwin where his toughness score is high, his bromance score is low and he's indulging Kathleen's whims.

Did you realise that the phrasing of Edwin's interior monologues depends on his score points?

Ian's current assholery I think is a direct result of Edwin's (and his uncle's) influence on him.
Again, no. It depends on how his parents raised and treated him.

"A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very, very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control." Don't remember who said this, but I find it to be true in a lot of situations. Being able to be cruel, but not be cruel is also a sign of a good man.
Well, no. Just no. Simply NO.

I won't even argue with that.

Anyone knows how to get rid of the saves naming requirement? It's extremely annoying
That simply is the most useful feature I've ever seen in a Visual Novel, but, hey, each to his own.

At the very beginning of the game, we see a young man watching a woman who has probably been fucked by a bunch of men for hours...

He feels sick of what he is watching and of himself...

But he is also aware that there is a desire for such things somewhere inside him...

The game asks us this:
Which side of you will you let win?

It is quite meaningful that the main character encounters a secret den of sin at this very time.

What we may not have realized about Felicia is this...

She has already decided what she wants to be...
This may seem like a despicable, disgusting way to some...
Or some may use this opportunity to humiliate this woman...

Sometimes you can't understand some people even if you empathize...
Felicia was a woman who pushed her limits even during her student years.

Why does it surprise you that she put her status at risk and became a masturbation material in front of a bunch of old bastards?

She has always been a woman living on the edge and she doesn't have a mysterious purpose that she hasn't told anyone about...

Still, I like messing with this woman who is a dissolute person by making her the first in the first week

Yes, and nobody is only ONE THING, ALL THE TIME. We are all multitudes within us. Edwin loves his mom, loves Ian. He also watches his mom's porn (he says to remind himself of her sacrifice, but we know better...). He also used to be violent. He can be all the things, but also be a manipulative Sadist that has his Bromance, Hot Goth GF, and still likes dominating and torturing his boss.
