For me, the breast sizes are a bonus, and I know I'm ribbin' ya a bit on that, but with a story that tells a modern day film noir and really allows people to define how exactly they want the story to go and a choice and consequence that makes sense, I have to really applaud how the characters are unique, resonate strongly, and all bring something different into the story.
Hi!
I am just speaking about the art when it comes to the breasts here, not the story. You might remember reading some of my posts, when we discuss the story and several characters.
I'm not surprised she's popular, but I've been surprised just how popular. Guess there's some mystique / a little-goes-a-long-way there or something.
Hi TD!
As I mentioned in an earlier post, you hit her character design practically spot on when you made it. Sophia is more interesting than quite a number of other characters in the game.
I can speak only for myself here, but for me it is less about the mystery of her relationship with Abel and their plans for the PC club (which are interesting, no doubt here) and more about her character. In erotic games we rarely get wellmade character designs, mostly stereotypes and Pale Carnations is a major exception with a lot of great character design.
Even among the side characters we get tidbits which invite questions. Take Andrea, who is a ray of sunshine despite her life circumstances (e.g. parental neglect as a kid, her sis is a recovering alcoholic, moonlighting as a hooker). Would be interesting to know how she does it.
But back to Sophia. Among her traits is eccentrism, something we rarely see in erotic games or games in general, at least which is not a caricature. She is an amoral eccentric genius scientist, with nerdy (and some kinky) undertones. Which is a package we do not have anywhere else in the game and also not a typical romance pick.
Which is one reason I argue so hard for a romance option with Sophia, a brush against the standard flow! Neither Edwin nor Sophia are at PC to fall in love, but this odd couple coming and growing together would be a refreshingly different love story.
We have two really great done love story arcs with Hana and Felicia, absolute top and a well shaping up "love" arc with Kath in an assholish sort of way for the darksiders. The other current love arcs are wellmade, but more standard fare for an erotic game. That is my opinion since I find these three arcs to be less fitting characterwise and I think it shines through a bit.
For Mina, Edwin is a rebound and stick it to Ian romance in various amounts, depending on how we played so far.
Rosi is more manipulative than many other characters in game and while she regrets it today, she was a scammer. While part of her feelings might be or becoming true over the run of PC, she is manipulating Edwin for her gains several times already.
Veronika is a strongly lesbian-leaning bisexual. She might be good friends material for those who can stand some of her character traits, but a deep romance is unlikely. Unless you play Edwin rather feminine, which is how Veronika likes her men, then it could be something for the long run.
Sophia with her quirks and oddities is quite different from the other love options and that would make a love story arc with her quite shining. An odd couple forming for the long run. An eccentric finding her fit with a character with some smaller eccentricities of his own.
