Felicia, Ian, August, or Kat.

I think August might be contingent on a previous choice (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and Kat comes with possibly undesirable conditions if you don't have/use one of the social perks.
As I recall the only requirement for August helping is to have 6 or more points with him. That doesn't leave a huge margin for error, but I don't think there's any single action that must be taken in order to reach that total.

I think this latest update is pretty terrible.

Did the developers just over-extend themselves? Is that why our choices become scarce so often now?

Maybe the fault is all mine for thinking that a game which began with choices to shape your character's past and personality would actually let you choose your character's personality type. I do have a tendency to jump to wild conclusions like that.
While I agree to some extent with some of your points (particularly about limited choices), there I couple things I think you are overlooking.

Would it have been nice to have the whole conversation now rather than put it off until the next update? Yes. But this was already a massive update.
Not to mention Victoria is drunk out of her ass. And Edwin is stoned, and there's Ian next to him in similar condition. This is hardly a setup to have a serious conversation about anything, and especially about his mom's porn career that both have been wrestling with half of their respective lives.

Yes, Edwin is always a sadist.

That's core to his character and has never been a flexible quality. And I don't think it's all that surprising that the Kathy path, where you seek out her mentorship, involves her stoking Edwin's sadism. That's kind of her thing. I mean the (optional) scene where she gives Edwin his "homework" is him seeking her perspective on the topic. I mean... 1 + 1 = 2, you know?

As for the Vicky video thing, pretty much what has been pointed out: you've misinterpreted the text. "(Now... empty the trash can.)" is Edwin emptying the trash can. I can see thinking it sounds like he's dragging his feet, but it's just him confirming the finality of his action to himself and the reader.

Edited to add: I will admit the Marlow thing is pretty hackneyed. It's hinted at very early in the story, but it's never used to inform Edwin's perspective when it comes to Mina, the threesome with Rosalind, etc when it very well should considering how formative it would be. My hand wave would be Edwin is pretty good at compartmentalizing and has moved past it, but it's honestly just me not factoring it appropriately into the story.

Likewise, while it's disappointing that our treatment of Killian has so little impact on his ability to process the information right now, I can see that being more of a long term struggle for him - that splinter in his mind that he can only fight effectively if the MC has taught him some introspection. I'm willing to see where this goes before passing judgement.
It will have a major influence on how he reacts to the information. It's not reflected in that scene because, in part, it's a prime example of the boy's old dynamic. Edwin is pushing his narrative hard, forcing him to accept it, and Ian goes along with it as a follower. At least was my thinking, beyond my tendency to save "more" for later so you can't just easily back out of your choice of telling him if you don't like his take on the matter.

This is true, but then again TD could have toned down the intoxication a notch if he wanted to put the discussion in this update. I think the size of this update combined with the desire to juxtapose whatever Victoria tells us with the Week 3 Exhibition were the driving factors here.

I'm not going to entirely write that off as a factor (for example, I might of put some more small talk to fill out the scene), but it is how the scenario genuinely played out in my mind. Vicky would naturally get blitzed, and Edwin is both happy to put off the uncomfortable discussion for selfish reasons and because it's a conversation best left for when they're sober.

Plus, there's something nice ending with Vicky realizing Edwin knows without her even having to say it.

But practically speaking, breaking up the reveal (if you can even call it that, considering the dissonance that the player knows ahead of time what's happening and Edwin doesn't) and the resolution gives space to let Edwin do his usual analyzing thing, lean on a relationship variable or two, and cheaply becomes a talking point in between updates.

I agree, that bitch Grace, for the way she treats the MC's mother, should be fucked in the most perverted way possible in front of her brother and son (in a club). Kat could do it? I don't know, include it in the exhibition as warm up...
I kind of hope Killian gives Edwin permission to fuck her shit up, after hearing how she tried to blackmail Victoria. Not sure if it's better if he watches or not, but I expect he would, with his childhood maid giving him head while he watches his egg-donor punished and defiled.

I imagine it could always be included later into the story, now that the cat is out of the bag, so to speak. Maybe precisely because Edwin has potentially re-acknowledged those events. Just like certain aspects of Victoria's porn career apparently bleed eventually through Edwin's mental walls, his ability to avoid pondering on how his first short-lived relationship potentially impacted the recent developments in his life, could eventually run out, too.

Admittedly, V has a very, very cute mug, but I always manage to forget that her head is saddled on a body five or six (conservatively) sizes larger for it. Half of her bloodstream must be PEDs. This is probably where all of the money really went, not on a gym maintenance and renovation.
Just saw this and instantly connected in my mind :D After Powder Blue maybe she will ok with the role in the RL PC movie :D
