Ok, ill toss out the waifu war angle bit I have been doing. Rose is there to fullfill all the incest elements without actually having incest. Its a psudeo incest porn scenario. If you catch your mom banging on video, you will be traumatized. 99.9% of the world, is not going to rewatch their mom getting banged to get over the trauma. They sure as heck aint going to mommy role play with the single mom they know that looks similar to their mom. My mom needs help financially so she doesnt have to resort to porn that I watched. Geez I should go work at the suspicious bar thats a whorehouse said no one ever but Edwins stupid ass.

The mommy character is Victoria projected onto Rose.

The dumb jock athletic character is Veronica that has no non athletic back up plan.

Mina is the ditzy young blonde who is really not.

Hana is the daddy issue goth girl who is reaalllyyy coool but reaallyy haattes her daaadd.

Sophia is the hot nerdy evil scientist.

Kathleen is the dominatrix who is actually evil.

Dalia is the head bitch who looks out for everyone.

Felecia is the gold digger that actually has a heart of gold.

Edwin is the best bro with a crappy mom that makes him take it out on other women.

Chuck is the awesome rich grandpa who is really an asshole.

Play into the above sterotypes for a bad play through and encourage to break out of stereotypes for a good playthrough for non antagonists. Mix and match for gray.

Dont bang single moms that remind you of your mom, friends girl friends, married women, bang multiple woman while trying to romance someone, or bang the bosses daughter etc. Fast money is not the way to go if its a crime. Flip all that for drama.

The entire game (that is great porn btw) is a sterotype with a BDSM humiliation twist. Even the mob element is straight up sterotype. Just replace cocaine with horny medicine and the crooked feds with crooked pharma.

Am I getting it?
You seem to have a superficial grasp of the tropes with no appreciation for the execution or subtleties of this specific narrative. Congrats on your neurodiversity diagnosis. Does it feel good to shit on things people like? Trolling is a bad habit.

*ahem*

No.

The issue here is that you're forgetting that stereotypes have to build onto the negative and positive aspects of it in order to feel fully fleshed out. Really bad stereotypes come off as one note and one trick and people will bounce off them if they're handled poorly.

That's a flat character arc. They stay the same no matter what happens in the story.

The characters here are very dynamic in what they do and have highs and lows along with struggles as they interact. So when you write a story, keeping them moving along with the main characters feels more that they have their own struggles going on out of the camera.

X and Y don't like each other. That's because Z was harmed. Fill in the blanks.

August and Chuck don't like each other. That's because Dalia was harmed. Now there's a story.

Hana and Kathleen don't like each other. That's because Harper was harmed. There's another one.

Then you go down the rabbit hole and find out *why* those characters got beef. That makes the story stronger and builds on the writing that came before.

Beef and relationships dynamics… Kinda falls under the broadstroak of drama that I mentioned does it not?

Hello,
can anyone please help me?

I am stuck in Veronica Scene in Hellweek.
I´ve tried to hide the camera file with a fix mentioned in this post but the camera frame is still visible?

is there any other way to fix this issue?

Thanks!
Unfortunately I have now the same problem in Victoria Scene.
As suggested I´ve tried again to change to OPGl but I still get crashes.

Does anyone have another Idea maybe? I´m sad :(

I can't get the connection between Vicky and Chuck out of my head. Grace talks about an agreement with awkward chatter between the two.
She doesn't know what it's about and she doesn't care. Since we now know from Chuck that he likes to play games with people in order to break them or achieve his goal with them, it's something I can't get out of my head. He obviously started doing it with Vicky a long time ago.
I noticed during the second run that Vicky reacts unusually to Ian's father.

It seems to me that her reaction is more of a personal one than just some knowledge about him.
There is a lot of information about Vicky that has been mentioned but left open, which will probably be connected later on (and we are supposed to think about it and start speculating in the meantime).
Did she have a bad experience with him, and if so, where and when?

We know that she started making porn in 2009. We generally assume that Edwin was about 12 years old at the time.
We know nothing about the six years between the death of his father and the start of making porn. We also have no time reference for Edwin's statement that she had several jobs at the same time. All we know is that in addition to her porn work, she worked in a bar at night.

Suppose she had started working for Ian's father's company after her husband's death (or 2-3 years later), she didn't know who he was yet. He demands that she wear the outfit and possibly more (for various reasons, secretaries sometimes have sex with their boss)?
(This also fits with the "handsy boss" when we asked about her work at the beginning.)
Here Chuck meets her outside of school. At Grace's, she says she met him a few times, at school and at... (work?)
The moment she finds out about Ian's father, she quits and needs a new source of income.
This would give Chuck knowledge of two of her secrets.

In my opinion, this ties up a few loose threads.
From here, one can speculate further whether Chuck first met her at school or whether he recognized her at school.
Did he "enlighten" her about it?
Does Grace really know everything or just one of the two?
Even a connection to August could be explained in this way.

I'm curious to see if there is interest and, if so, how you take my theory apart or agree with it.

I think you're overlooking what's possibly a keyword in that quote:

"used to have occasion to play sexy legal assistant."

Victoria's husband was a lawyer, iirc. A far simpler explanation to this angle (especially in the context of a reply to "you bring that from home?") is that he and Victoria used to have a bit of kinky roleplay in the bedroom, where she was pretending to be his "sexy legal assistant".

Point for you.
You're making it even worse for me.
She wears the clothes she used to please her husband to the casting for porn films?

Bro, that hand is definitely Hana's (unless we have a new character incoming...).
Nah, Hana has tattoos on her left arm and doesn't wear a watch. Sophia has bare skin and does.
Hi! I agree with ename144 here that it is most probably Sophia´s arm we see.
Only three of the major girls in the game use black nailpolish, Hana, Kath and Sophia. Hana´s arms are tattooed and she usually also wears various armbands, which are absent here. Kath is not tattooed, but also wears a gold armband or nothing at all usually.
Sophia is not tattooed and usually wears a watch and it is most probably a watch armband we see in the teaser pic. In addition the shown nails are quite short for a woman, both Hana and Kath have longer fingernails than these. Finally the bit of the top sleeve we can see is grey or black. The only girl beside Hana with a faible for grey and black is Sophia.

That's a part of the story. No question. What you're specifically getting into is to try to dismiss the characters and not see the parallels of primary, secondary, and tertiary characters. That's what I'm getting into. Sometimes, with examples I pulled earlier, you try an idea on a less focused on character to see how the audience gages it. Veronica likes mousey women. We were told this. In the gym, she was perving on Mina and the girl didn't really notice. Even then, in a recent update, who did you play wingman for if you didn't want to bang her? Veronica.

And now, you have a choice if you have Veronica hit on Mina. That's just one example.

Well, If you're together for quite a while with a healthy sex life, almost all your clothes have been involved in pleasing your partner in some way or another. Based on how basic the outfit is I doubt that these were especially bought for sexy times but just adapted from regular wear rotation when she and her husband were having fun. Most clothes used for sexy roleplay are just that, regular clothes.

I'm sorry but: No. Not really. The whole point of this game being more about characters studies, to let them be more then just the most reductive list of character traits. Rather than only being a waifu simulator.

And a great way to do so is offering mirrors and parallels. Lucy, Victoria, Rose can all be condensed to the same shit description: 'mothers who turned to sex work for their kids benefit'

But each of their characters are very different, Lucy is vain and her motives selfish but in her own way non-duplicitous, unable to shield her emotions or her secrets which makes her easy to manipulate, meanwhile Rose is anything but vain, nor are her motives selfish, but guards her emotions and is certainly not above trying to be the manipulator instead.

Victoria has already been discussed in how her character interacts with Rosalinde her arc, but again, her character is still different, them both of them, more grounded, lighter, happier.

in the end none of them are actually merely a stereotypical trope. Even if they can be reduced to such if you just cut away all that makes them their own person. And in the story each character of them and how they act in similar circumstances informs on the other for the player. It tells you who they are, and who they are not. Would I qualify it as high literature? Not really, but it is clearly done for a reason, and for a porn story it's done quite well and enjoyably so.

Now of course, people can differ on if they like that level of character building in a porn story and people can certainly want just "the mom type", "the sporty chick", or the "whore with a heart of gold" or instead "the brunette", "the redhead" or "the blonde" in a harem waifu simulator and be done with it. There isn't anything wrong with that.

Those games are very popular for a reason. But for many the fact that here in this game it's turned into "this specific blonde" instead of just any blonde or "that particular mom type" instead of generic mom type is what makes it stand out. It's the seasoning that makes the dish.

Man, I love this game but I am the only one who felt like Hana's GF route was kinda.... lacking?

Like, I love her character and I definitely want to keep on her route but it's kinda disappointing how there is basically no return at all for going into her route as opposed to just remaining fuck buddies. The choice comes really early in the game, so you sacrifice a lot of content from the other girls and yet you get nothing in return. I expected some exclusive gf content, you know? Like going on dates, chilling in the apartment and stuff. Some new content exclusive to the GF Route that makes it worth it picking it over the FB.

And I really hate to say this, but it doesn't really feel worth it to go into her GF route. You basically get the same content going into the FB route and yet you can still play around with the other girls. I truly wish we get some exclusive GF route content in future updates.
