Saw someones picture at the bottom of their reply with this game so thought I would look for it. After all if you like a game enough to use it in your profile it probably is not a gag. Reading overview and seeing the rating makes me optimistic as well.

12gigabytes though? I have a few questions.

I.) Is this a game which you will be at one of the spectrum about... Is it a decisive love it/hate it situation?

II.) Not sure if this is one which can be answered and I understand the keep game A with game A and game B with game B discussion. But if it can be answered what would someone say is a similar project?

III.) Is the most recent update going to be that way for the foreseeable future? Or is it better to wait a week or two so as not to be updating a game I have yet to play anyways? Seeing Update 5 and a recent release date makes me curious if the previous 4 have all come recently?

IV.) How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

I. it's the kind of game that makes you uncomfortable but it's also unique. I will say that how much you would like it depends on your mindset. People either leave early because it make them uneasy or sticky around for the story.

II. i will say that this is unique project. Both because the Club is unique thing, as well as because the developers actually can write good stories. I love AVN but quite of them have, less than stelar stories. Most others have "sex as something added rather than centerpiece of the story".

III. Give the previous schedule, as well as that there was updated recently, probably 9 months to an year from now on. Thou next update could be said to be "culmination" of sort.

I. Personally, I love it, so I might not be the best person to ask. It has definitely turned some people off due to subject matter and some scenes. I think there's probably a little bit of love/hate spectrum going on, but I also know some people who fall in between. Best way to find out is to play!

II. I agree with Henchmen13 that this is unique among the games that I've played. There are others that are written well, but it's hard to come up with a strong analogy.

III. Yeah, I dunno if it'll be 9 months or only 6, but it's definitely gonna be a minute.

IV. I don't know the answer, but I hope the woodchuck survived your questioning.

i don't see a path where veronica willingly joins the club.
even if you put aside her stubbornness for a moment , don't forget her golden rule "fast/easy/hard".
joining the competition was her "fast" solution , she is stubborn but not stupid.
joining the club as a working girl/trainer directly goes against her rules.

on the otherhand i do agree that her winner takes all attitude not only harms herself but others like felicia and rose who are now her competitors.
she spent her entire life training to be the best so naturally she wants to "win" but you can already see cracks in it when she says she feels bad for the other girls who are going to loose in the diner scene .
at this point you can encourage or discourage her so i think deep down she does feel bad about the "loosers" too.

secondly i think there could be a path where veronica could get somesort of "good" or "bitter-sweet" ending even if she doesn't win the game.
where she stops digging bigger hole for herself , admits defeat today so she could begin again better tomorrow.
after all unlike the other girls i could totally see her becoming "successful"again with the right frame of mind.

1. The subject matter of the game can definitely provoke strong feelings, but that said it's not as polarizing as I would expect. Those of us who love it love it, but people who dislike it mostly seem to ignore it.
2. I don't think there's a good comparison out there. Pale Carnations is a corruption game, but it's an intellectual corruption of a male MC, and it spends considerable time fleshing out the less corrupt routes as well.
3. The game was just updated in December, and the next update is likely to be a large one. You're looking at a 6+ month wait for Update 6. For comparison, Chapter 4 Update 1 was released on October 17, 2022.

If you choose monogamy with Hana it should be clear that you'll miss out on a boatload of scenes with other girls.
It's completely worth it though because she's better than all these cheap hoes

I. I absolutely love this game, but one of the reasons why, is because the story makes you question your morality from time to time, it can also make you a feel uncomfortable depending on your mindset with these games or how "vanilla" are your tastes.

II. This game is very unique compared to some others in the site, I don't have any game in mind I could think off and call it "similar" to Pale carnations.

III. The most recent update dropped a few weeks ago, now is the best time to start playing imo, the wait time for the next update will likely take 6-9 months given the updates of this game tend to be packed with lots of stuff.

For gallery unlock, this is how I did it (after failing with universal gallery unlocker)
1, go to Pale Carnations folder > renpy > common
2, find and open 00console with notepad
3, find the line "config.console = False" and change it to "config.console = True"
4, open the walkthrough provided by this forum, and at the bottom of the pdf there is a section for unlock scenes
5, find your missing scene, and copy the fourth column's content (eg.: "persistent.RoseTAGallery = True")
6, run game and press Shift+O
7, paste the copied variable, press enter
8, ????
9, profit

Maybe one of you people can give me your thoughts but what is the point of having so many Mom (Victoria) porn/casting couch flashbacks if Mom is never going to be an LI? I mean I can see it intially as to give some context to her character and that of her son (the MC) but if she does not figure in the LIs so to speak, I just think it is such a waste of resources considering the time and effort to create those renders when it has absolutely nothing to do to move the plot/story along at this point. I am not all the way through it yet but my point is iterated in the ice cream shop after buying Mom a new phone. The scene with "Donny" and the casting couch has no revelance to the story at all IMHO. I think those efforts and resources could better put toward moving the story along or scenes with actual Love Interests rather than keep showing Mom getting fucked in the past. What the hell does that have to do with the story at this point? Is it just an incest tease or something? I mean it is in the MCs head that this is being imagined isn't it? Any comments?

The point of a prenup is usually to ensure that you /do/ get something in the divorce. I guess you theoretically could sign away your rights with a prenup but why would you?

I see this line of thinking a lot, but I'll admit I've never quite bought in. Victoria enjoying some of her shoots (which certainly seems plausible with Donovan) doesn't really counter the idea she was making a sacrifice for the MC. The two are hardly mutually exclusive. As with the Kathleen's insistence that the MC's sadism is his "true" self, the fact that one part of a mix is salacious doesn't instantly render the other part a mere facade.

Personally, I think the crucial distinction is entirely in how the MC chooses to handle the information. Obsessing over her how his mother's porn films is ultimately objectifying her, which in turn is going to have a corrosive affect on their maternal relationship. But it would have that effect regardless of whether she was doing it for lust or love. To the extent her motivation matters, it's only in making the video hotter (or at least more voyeuristic) when she's thoroughly enjoying herself. IMHO.
