Since brevity is the order of the day, these numbers work out to a weekly average of 85 static images, 3.5 animations, and 1840 words in the two weeks since the last Dev Diary. Overall, TD & GIL are now averaging 87 statics, 2.2 animations, and 1851 words per week since work on Chapter 4 Update 6 began. Here are the charts for Week 20:
TD is right that we have a pretty hefty set of images (and animations) for the pre-Exhibition portion of the update. We'll see how that ultimately works out eventually, though I'm glad morale is high either way. I'm curious to see how this Hana scene is structured. On the one hand, I really would *not* want to do anything sexual with a girlfriend (or even a FWB) anywhere near the Club. On the other hand, the math checks out: Hana is hot. Not sure which of these two irresistible forces will win out, but I'm certainly eager to start the experiments!

You should have probably stated that that´s how you´re playing Edwin in your game. Mine isn´t really devoted at all. He does the minimum he can do to keep everyone happy, but if there was a chance to leave, he probably would.
I'm afraid the best I can offer is informed guesswork, because it really all depends on just how big and complex the exhibition will be; I'm not sure even TD knows that for sure until he's nearly done writing it.
But if we want to throw darts at a board and guess release dates, I see a couple strategies to guide us. The simplest is to assume this update will be at least as big as the last update (which was quite big for a non-exhibition). Chapter 4 Update 5 took 280 days to complete, which would give Update 6 a release window starting on October 4. That means we have at least 4 months left, probably a bit more but hopefully the finish line would be in sight by then.
But you guys don't [wish you could] pay me the big bucks for simple; we can get more convoluted than that! What if we compare the initial free-roam/exhibition ratio of the 2nd Exhibition and scale that up based on the free-roam time for Exhibition 3? Chapter 4 Update 4 took 167 days to develop, approximately 74 of which was spent working on the exhibition itself. That means recent historical exhibition content takes approximately 80% of the preceding free-roam development time. If we assume development of the new free-roam will be complete as of this Sunday, that would give us 169 days of development. 80% of that is ~134 days, which translates to October 27. That's only a month-ish more than the baseline simple estimate.
So is that confirmation that our speculation is valid? Probably not. Consider an alternative way to estimate the development time: comparing the ratio of Chapter 3 Update 4 vs the rest of Chapter 3 to the ratio of the upcoming Chapter 4 Update 6 vs the rest of Chapter 4. Chapter 3 Updates 1-3 took a combined 403 days to complete, while Chapter 3 Update 4 (the chapter finale) took 167 days; that's a leadup-to-finale ratio of about 41%. Chapter 4 Updates 1-5 took a combined 933 days to complete, 41% of which is ~387 days. That would give Update 6 an expected release date of January 18, 2026, a good three months more than the baseline.
The morale of the story is that you probably shouldn't put too much stock in any number I give you. That said, the overall range of these guesses, from early October to mid January, is probably a reasonable estimate of the release window... assuming they don't spin the third Exhibition off into it's own update, of course!
On August and Hana: He objectively isn't "using" Edwin like sure he probably realizes he isnt acitvely pushing her away but it cant be just to get Hana closer to the club because Edwin (even if you plan to stay in the club) has repeatedly asked himself about Kathleen/the club mostly in relation to Darius going missing and thats not even considering any changes that come from Edwin deleting his mom's stuff or not. Is it really so out of left field that even an "evil vicious mob boss" (just forget he didn't want the dude who "insulted" Hana to be punished as harshly) could be missing his daughter and doing what he can to try to get closer to her in his old ass age? Almost like him and Edwin have a direct conversation about that
It really "hurts" august characters when he's reduced to Chuck but less intelligent, more boring (in the sense of as soon as you see him you know 100% about him), and with more basic motivations (family vs whatever the fuck Chuck wants on the day). I guess Chuck allows August's 'manipulation" of Edwin and his realationship with Hana but tells kathleen multiple times to lay off Edwin because....... bros before hos?
Edit: how many "big bad 4d chess playing" Mob bosses have willingly been under someone else in a criminal enterprise? When Chuck (a civilian) says "no august you are too boring we are going to go a more fun route with this guy (the debt)" that reaaaaaallllllly does not give off ultra badass mob boss energy
