On my playthrough I decided to not sleep with Mina whilst she was still technically with Ian. Has this closed her path now or will I get the chance to try again later? Just wondering if I need a second save.
I haveen't played that route but iirc it doesn't close her path permanently, but you miss the scene obviously (could be wrong, been a while)

Going by the gallery, there's a late entry path, even with an associated scene that you'll miss out on otherwise.

As ffive said, there is another chance to get together with Mina in Week 3 even if you turned her down prior to her breaking up with Ian. You need 23+ affection points with her, but that should be very doable if you're aiming for her.

Now the question is: why?
I made the same decision on my main save where I'm trying to play good guy Edwin. I don't want to help someone cheat, I don't want to be disloyal to Ian, and I don't think it is wise to be with someone that has demonstrated they are willing to cheat.

I turned down Hana when she asked for a relationship for similar reasons. Edwin's obligations to the club and to the carnations specifically will mean that he can't be faithful to her. Also I've been aiming for Veronica from the start.

Probably worth to keep in mind that it's more of Mina reacting to discovery that she's been repeatedly cheated on by her supposed boyfriend. They're as good as done by that time, even if Ian isn't informed about it (or you can even choose to pretty much inform him about it, by notifying him that Mina has found out about him being a cheating dipshit)

1) your character is a person who has sex in front of an audience in an illegal brothel for money - but you don't want to be disloyal to Ian

2) Ian is a serial cheater, who disrespected his girlfriend over and over and over;

3) Mina is NOT cheating on Ian - she's about to dump him, and she will do it in a a few days (I don't remember when it exactly happens right now) anyway; and you see Ian having sex with quite a few women (Carnations, Club girls, his maid, the hairdresser) before and after Mina dumps him;

4) the game makes you choose between being best buddies and being an asshole with Ian;

5) are you aware that this is an erotic novel? your aim is to get laid. :cautious:

Hana? your argument makes no sense. Their agreement is: he is allowed only in the club and because of job obligations. If Edwin breaks this rule, a game variable adds cheating points: so it's only up to you only if you cheat on Hana while she is your girlfriend.

Actually it makes sense, since there are persons with a very distorted morality. Think to mobsters, they can do the nastiest thing, but they have also a very high (and distorted) sense of loyalty toward their "family".

See I always thought, if she really wanted to just hurt Ian, her rejecting Edwin after he rejected her makes no sense.
She could've just slept with him and then leave his ass and go tell Ian to try and fuck with him or blackmail Edwin or something. If Edwin rejects her when she initiates her advances at her apartment and you have a low affection score with her when you try to get with her after she breaks up with Ian, she will reject you which makes no sense if her endgoal with Edwin is just using him to screw with Ian.

I mean it could be just a gameplay thing, but why then you also have the option to choose to just remains friends with her twice?

She isn't doing this to hurt Ian. Note that (iirc) she doesn't even tell him that she's fucked another guy when she breaks up with him.

It's like what she says: she wanted to know what it feels like to be with someone else while being (technically) in a relationship. Maybe it's an attempt to understand why Ian had done it, maybe she's simply curious, or maybe it's a bit of both. That her relationship is at this point as good as dead means that she can find this out with no one actually getting hurt. Even Ian, because he doesn't have any room to feel like Mina owes him anything at this point.

I'm aware that any attempt at morality is going to be undermined by other behavior that is unavoidable. That's just the nature of the scenario. But, being a willing participant in an illegal brothel's sex pageant is irrelevant to the question of whether you should backstab your lifelong friend or not.

Which sucks for everyone involved, but it's no excuse to stoop to the lowest common denominator.

Still, I'd like to hear that they're officially broken up before getting involved.

So far I've pretty much universally shut down Ian's bad behavior. So my "best buddy" status is probably in jeopardy, but in this one instance I've chosen not to damage the friendship.

Sure, but it's also about roleplaying and I am behaving in the way I wish to. Behaving in /any/ fashion is going to open some doors and close others. For instance, one of my favorite scenes plays out very differently depending on how you behaved during a sex scene earlier in the game.

I've only ever read through that scene once, and I chose to not have a relationship. If there's some discussion of terms and allowed extracurriculars in the girlfriend route, then I haven't read it yet. But, iirc when she asks, Hana is unsure of whether she would be comfortable with Edwin sleeping with other women for club business. To me that seems like it wouldn't actually work out. Plus I'd like our relationship to be exclusive on /both/ ends, and if I can't promise that then I have no business being in a relationship. Also morality based on game variables is metagaming which is lame.

You clearly DIDN'T play the girlfriend path. If you did, you'd know that their relationship terms have been dictated by Hana.

Every game variable and every key choice has a purpose. In this case, when Edwin breaks their agreement, you add a cheating point; when Edwin doesn't break their agreement, you add no cheating point even though he has had sex.
