So I tested both the compressed one and the uncompressed patch, and both work fine. Are you sure the last update you had was Chapter 4 update 4 Public? Thats the only thing I can think of. Or your download got corrupted but it should say that when unpacking.

If you haven't deleted it yet or downlaoded the full version/full compression. You can try and install one of the the privious patches if you're sure you played ch4up4 then the one from "Chapter 4 Update 4" to "Chapter 4 Update 5 Public" should be enough maybe. (you need to copy paste the old patch first and then the new one again though.

Edit: Yes the probleis you missing the Update from Ch4Up4 -> Ch4Up4 Public. Seems like the buttons where added there:

I do, and I don't remember having this problem before... so something has changed.

I'm a big fan of pumping up the font size in the accessibility settings (which I'm not sure if I had to do before in this game but I do it so much I may have and just forgotten along the way) and setting the font to DejaVu Sans if it's not something that's just as easy on the eyes from the get-go... now it's all crammed down on the bottom of the screen it feels unpleasant to look at, and worse if you increase the text size so there's extra lines to it it goes off the bottom of the screen.

Not sure if there's a textbox background that's gone now either and that's adding to why it's less enjoyable to parse... I wish I'd kept my old copy of the game to compare and contrast... but it's definitely less pleasant to read, but maybe that's the just staring at the edge of the screen for all the text issue.

But yeah mark me down as not a fan (of whatever that changed, still a big fan of the game, haha).

No, not exactly. This game is more associated with corruption and perverted brothels with some dark content and a past.

In part, it is more NTS than NTR, none of the girls betray Mc to consider it similar to NTR, the most that can be considered here is that Mc is a whore-man

It all depends on your choice in which direction you will go.
