This is NOT that type of story.
This is a story where an old bitch hits a woman with a stun gun in her private parts, but it's not a story where MC's mom is sexually exploited.
If it happened, our Edwin would get a gun, he would enter the Carnation's Club and start shooting until he either kills everybody or he gets killed.

If you're new to VNs, get used to it. All the major ones take a long time for updates because quality takes time

Having great influence on the entire plot is already plenty, so no, there doesn't have to be more to it.

Dev Diary 93
TD here, hello.
Ch4Up5 currently sits at 1,032 images, 35 animations, and 24,192 words.
That works out to 199 statics images, 0 animations, and 3,710 words added to the project since our last report two weeks ago.
Things are trucking along here at Pale Carnations HQ, still in the battle with the free roam section of the update, but taking it stage by stage and room by room. GIL has had his work cut out for him exercising his visual story telling chops, finding angles that balances the many many characters on screen with the needs and flow of the text; a prime example of my motto of "GIL will figure it out."
I really lucked my ass off by having him as my partner. I get to enjoy the freedom to write whatever I want without having to worry about how it will actually come together, and he always figures out an angle that not only fits all the relevant action, but looks good and segues into the next block of text in a logical and pleasing way. He is, without a doubt, the glue of our project.
Anyway, that observation pretty much says it all for this dev diary. We are in the weeds, but having a lot of fun mucking about. Too much fun, even, but inevitably so when all the characters are so fucking hot. Lucy, Sophia, Dalia, Allison… shit man, I feel like a kid in a candy store. Plus, working with all the dirty old bastards again, the drama brewing with Elias, the impending exhibition games… my enthusiasm is at an all time high.
I know I say it every time, but it’s because thinking about it makes me happy. So, believe me when I say I do not take it for granted that we have an audience that supports us.
How truly lucky I am to be doing something I love, in a small niche that I have an inordinate passion for. Without any of you, Pale Carnations wouldn’t exist in it’s current form and I probably wouldn’t be calling GIL my closest friend. Sometimes it really does feel like serendipity, or just sheer dumb luck, but a large component of the whole thing is you guys.
It’s not just about making a living off this either, but because your expressed enthusiasm drives our work and makes us feel like we’re doing something worthwhile. As of this month, it has kept the fire alive in us for five years.
I mean, can you believe that? It’s been five years since our initial release. That’s longer than a bachelor’s degree.
And even if time flies and the world changes, I still get to vomit my thoughts onto a PowerPoint show. It’s something I can set my clock to even when the world around me starts to make me feel anxious. It’s probably absurd to find fulfillment in making a porn game, but it is what it is and it simply wouldn’t be without you guys.

i would say its not obviously for everybody, the themas aborded are particular and personnaly i have more than one time stomached ttrough it, as the game itself it's a very good narrative exp, charas and dialogs are well executed icould only encourage you to play it.

In the 14 days since the previous diary TD and GIL have averaged around 100 static images, 0.0 animations, and 1855 words per week. Overall, they are averaging 80 images. 2.7 animations, and 1882 words per week since work on Chapter 4 Update 6 began. As far as this marking Pale Carnation's 5th anniversary, I'm thrilled to see it's still going strong. I only started playing the game at the end of the 2020 (the end of Chapter 2), but much to my surprise it rapidly became my favorite. There's something about PC's introspective approach to corruption (to say nothing of GIL's outstanding artistic direction!) that really strikes a cord with me. However long it takes to finish, I sincerely hope TD and GIL are having even more fun by the end than they are now. Excellent work, guys!!

I think it's considered bad form to advertise other games by different developers in a game thread. I guess that's part of F95's generally quite successful attempts to keep good relations with developers. But generally speaking, you can find a lot of great games among Ren'Py games with a rating of 4.5 or more. Games not based on Ren'Py tend to attract other, less critical crowds (or just people with very different tastes in games), so don't rely on their ratings in the same way.
im a little new to all this and VN in general. but man this is AWESOME, like its briliant. Come for some porn, found a realy good novel that let me cry, and more i start again in middle becouse of wrong choices

I once got a post in a game thread deleted for innocently saying something about a game by another developer. I guess the mod didn't know that the two developers share an itch.io account. I don't think your post is a problem, but you should probably edit it and strike out the last sentence to prevent entrapping other users. (Use the editing symbol just after the one for underlining.)
Then if you click the word "Forum" top left, you get to a full overview of forum categories. I am not sure if your request fits best under General Discussions or under the subcategory General Discussions / Recommendations & Identifications. Maybe you can even find a thread that asks a similar question and got plenty of good answers.
