I agree on all frontsThis makes me wonder, actually... Could Kathleen's ploy with Elias end up being the last straw that brings everything crashing down? I could see someone as petty and spiteful as him being so enraged by the betrayal of both his wife and Kathleen baiting him into the club that he vows to use his wealth and influence to bring the place down. In a Greek tragedy, that could be the kind of climactic moment that sets everything up for the third act where everything goes to shit and everyone dies.
I don't think it will, though. Maybe if Kathleen was the main character and this was a traditional story about hubris. But this is Edwin's story so while that would make for a fantastic and unexpected story arc, it's not personal enough to him for it to happen that way.
While it probably won't be the straw that breaks the camels back it is another example of her potentially directly fucking with their lives outside the club that could push Edwin towards (insert endings here)
