So, would the dev TD consider the next chapter update to focus on 'the side female character' Rosalind or Kathleen

Just to be clear, the Carnations (Veronica, Felicia, and Rosalind) are main characters. Hell, in some ways, they're more main characters than Hana or Mina considering the title of the game.

Rosalind gets quite a bit of screen time this update, and she'll feature in the next update as well, and probably the next one after that too.

Kathleen's next big scene will be her "test" of Edwin, if you opted to visit her after Exhibition 2, although that is likely outside the update after the next.

They play it close to the vest. There's a plan, but I think they leave flexibility for inspiration. If TD has shared an update roadmap, I don't remember it.
But it's more exciting that way, isn't it? Knowing what you're getting for Christmas takes the thrill out of unwrapping the present.

Absolutely agreed. I also prefer projects with a strong authorial vision, because they are usually more unique and focused. The "let the audience vote on what happens next" may lead to more community engagement, and possibly more profit, but I prefer the "purity of the vision" to be left intact.

Same. I've also seen community engagement quickly turn into community entitlement. But that hasn't stopped some people in this thread so maybe it doesn't really matter.

That's an interesting way to see it.
The in game schedule.
But still, you'll never know when flashback/backstory event popping up, some sides LI event kick in, or some surprise twisted event that lead to story branching that I hopefully happen for the next Veronica patch lol. So even if I cancel Veronica, I got some action with others. Hopefully rosalind, or the pregnant milker lad. Iirc The pregnant lad is not even in the list of characters so I won't hope so much. Hopefully a pregnant character is added to the rooster just to make the game fetish more rich.

Entitlement is the key word. I can understand people wanting more of their specific fetish... Or maybe not liking a specific character so much, and wanting more of the others. What I can't abide is people acting like immature children, and trying to justify in any way the fact that their preferences must be heard, or even guilt tripping the authors. No, not even if they are patrons. Adults should be able to cope with the fact that tastes differ, and not everything you see in the world is made just for you - and thus, god forbid, you may not like it, even.
The same is true for authors, by the way. You may be sweating and toiling for months for a character or scene development, and your audience may not like it. So, should you course-correct? My opinion is: you generally shouldn't, especially if the offending part is a matter of taste. Just as an example a-propos of nothing, "I didn't like it because the character is incoherent with their past behavior" is different from "I don't like it because I don't like muscles in girls".

My advice (which no one asked for)? Keep doing what you're doing. Compared to a lot of competing games, the progress between the various love interests in Pale Carnations is surprisingly balanced with no one being left behind. The moral dilemmas you put the MC and other characters through keep the story dramatic and engaging, and the occasional deep dives into the various characters' motivations fleshes them out spectacularly while so many competing games barely scratch the surface. Finally there's the time and effort you put into the payoff. The time and effort taken in choosing the right dialogue and learning about a love interest leads to scenes that must have taken you weeks to write and months to render (Hana anyone?).


Keep doing what you're doing. Your game is in the top five for a reason, and it's not because you relied on fan polls to tell you what to do next. Now that I think about it, you basically said you do just that, so why did I write this up in the first place? I dunno. Gave me an excuse to fanboy a little. Love your game!

OOOOhhhh... so the next one will be the one when MC will use the "box of fun"... sounds exciting. Can't wait to see how TD and GIL arrange the presentation.
