I don't think Eternum or Ripples "exists" in Pale Carnations or the other way around, they just references, cameos or friendly nods to fellow devs.

I've seen a few other games reference each other somtimes. Chasing Sunsets references Eternum for instance. Even has a few screenshots or approximations of them from the actual game.

Well, if are discussing "ET" handshoes now, it seems pretty clear that we need some storyline "goodies" to talk about. Like some hints about what can happen in the next update. Currently the previews we have so far are relatively cryptic or obscure. What we can guess close to knowing is that this "game weekend" is harsh. Felicia was already hit hard and the pic of our hero and Rosi in the lift cabin says enough that whatever happened to her was also really hard.

I get the impression there isn't going to be a lot of story in the next update, at least not the way we're used to. We got the bulk of the story already, now we're going to focus on the mechanisms of Kathleen's circus. So expect lots of lewd spectacle and tight character focus to see how the players respond. I do think there will likely be some significant dramatic beats towards the end of the evening, but a) TD might not want to spoil them in previews, and b) none of them have been created yet.

Of course, this is complete speculation on my part. We'll just have to see what shakes out.

Yeah I'm not sure there is an eternum reference in chasing sunset, but maybe just a mention. However there are crossovers with seeing actual characters between chasing sunset, summer scent, leap of faith and artemis (all games in DAZ contrary to eternum in HS2). But just little scenes as friendly nods as you said.

I do think there will likely be some significant dramatic beats towards the end of the evening, but a) TD might not want to spoil them in previews, and b) none of them have been created yet.

Of course, this is complete speculation on my part. We'll just have to see what shakes out.

idk if you ask me given how the last update ended we could potentially see a lot of drama this update
everyone was waiting for the ball to finally drop and it did and we finally see how crazy kathleen is
unlike previous games where MC was pretty concerned with helping the girls during the games given his situation with vicky and grace
I don't think he would be too focused on what's going on , ian too would be a bit distracted
this means the girls might not have much help from their "friendly" helpers this time
and they probably will have to fight eachother for real this time

even if both ian and MC get benched by kathleen during the games to prevent them from helping the girls during the games
they could still talk with some of the patrons during the games and gather some information

all of this is before of the night ends
who knows how the story goes after that

so yeah i think we might get to make few important story decisions this update too

It really is a great movie. And very hard to describe in a way that does it justice. I think everyone should see it regardless of what kind of movies one likes.

I agree with you insofar that the majority of the update storyline we got with part 1. I estimate that the "game evening" and the direct aftermath include some important choices to be done. I theorise how we treat Feli and Elias will be impactful, since we have our Feli and now even Elias score to take care off. Also how we react to the deeds of the evening in relation to the club leadership. Kath and Chuck revel in the shit show of their own making, August is far from being amused. Hana will also be a point to think about, no matter if we are FwB or in a relationship.
Then there is the Ian "crisis" and how to deal with Grace. While this will not happen directly afterwards, I think we will at least pave the general "roadmap" of it.
Further for those of us who went for Sophia, I am rather sure a meeting date in the coming week will be made and maybe a bit more stuff still in the update. Given she and Abel have their own plans and very sizeable power, this will become important for any player wanting to get rid of Kath and Chuck.
Also those of us who went for Allison will most probably be "introduced" deeper into the den of sin that is Kath and Chuck´s brainchild.

TD has teased about this in Dev Diary 106 (lewd!) and from a dramatic structure, this would be the logical end of Act 2, where something happens that makes us go oh shit oh shit oh shit and likely be the nadir for our MC and/or carnations. That means I think it is unlikely we will be able to end the night retreating into the comfort of a companion, and more so figure out how to do damage control. What that looks like... we'll just have to wait and see.

I know TD is more Lady Snowblood than A24 but I hope one of the endings includes a montage of Mina starring in different revamped versions of great movies, old and new.

I agree but here is the wrinkle
last update ended under similar circumstances too and so did the previous one before
both of them ended with explosive revelations and high stakes cliffhangers

you can't keep doing the same thing every time
It will inevitably ruin the emotional flow /tonality of the overall narrative
after all last update began with MC trying to figure out how to damage control Vicky getting black mailed about her porn career by grace and ended with a felicia cliffhanger

every update can't simply begin with the MC just waking up and trying to figure out how damage control whatever happened the previous night
that would be too formulaic and too soap operaish

Elias is a strange guy, it seemed like he was kinda proud of her and that it reignited his respect and passion towards her to me. He claimed to feel respect for the former winning girl too

I would argue she ruined her life herself (if you consider it as being ruined). The whole thing being exposed at least makes her less likely to be blackmailed

I'll agree that Felicia seems least likely of choices that MC will have a chance to spend the night with. The whole Felicia & Elias situation is still too delicate right now that at best, MC might try and check in on her between contest rounds if possible. I would think that she might be more likely to snap out of her stupor/be more receptive if MC [risked it, give her a heads up]. But there's too much with the Fel/Elias fallout that needs to be sorted out, and being able to spend the night with Fel seems rather unlikely even if she is the one most in need of support right now.

If everything does goes smoothly for the night and there are no hiccups, then the person I'd most expect to be able to spend the night with would be Kat, but only if you [grabbed a tiger by the tail]. I can already imagine her glowing after a night of work, ready to jump MC's bones. Letting the imagination run a little wilder, it'd be especially juicy if Hana walked in on this.

There's so much that can happen during the exhibition games that I try not to speculate too much on eventual outcomes. And while I certainly would like to further spend time with LIs after the exhibition night, what I want and what I expect are two different things.
