Definitely. I've been playing this game, Corruption and some more HS games. They all share the same damn dull model as the MC (those damn glasses, dude!!!)

If you don't like the character model that's fine, I'm fairly sure he's meant to look average and isn't meant to stand out. However:

Why should the girls be interested in such an uninteresting and dull MC?

Half the girls aren't that interested in him yet, because they barely know him. The other half are either down for casual fun or have spent enough time to be interested in him, given all he's done and admitted about himself. He's said enough to stand out from your average MC so I'm assuming it's just his character model you have an issue with but... just because you hate his glasses doesn't mean the girls find them hideous.

Sometimes a novel is written as a first-person narration. I guess everytime you read a story narrated by a first person protagonist you need to empathize with him/her. I DO NOT.

I don't tend to self-insert either. I treat visual novels just as I do a book or movie. In fact, I think the way some people take themes like NTR so personally, like they've been personally slighted, might be a tad unhealthy. That part you emboldened was just me trying to say that while I can explain the heroines having their reasons for interacting with the player character (since you suggested they don't), I can't help you to like him specifically.

Not even that. As TD1900 said only Felicia may actually be interested on Edwin since she met him before the brothel and maybe Hana too depending on Edwin's choices. Veronica and Rosalind need the money and Mina sees the protagonist at most as a good friend, for now.

Don't get me started on the ntr hate crowd. "That character looked at someone else other than the MC. OMG ntr! This game is ruined! I need to make sure everyone else knows my distaste"!

I'm a bit half and half. I still view the MCs of these games as a different person, but I still often place myself in their shoes more often than not. Usually picking choices that I would if I were them. I generally try to avoid NTR but that's more because of my distaste for cheating in any form, I don't mind things like side characters being in sexual relationships or sharing when it's consensual. It's easy enough to tolerate things I dislike as long as the rest of the game is enjoyable anyway.

Well said and applies widely to me too. Still there are occasions where I view the MC as a different person from the start instead of roleplay.But sometimes even that does not help. While e.g. BaDick is a very wellmade VN, I just cannot get warm with it. I think it is because when I look at the cast, there is this overwhelming background feel of "Who is another asshole here?" "We all are!"

That's an interesting topic. I don't think I try to RP the MC of the stories as myself usually, but I do like to feel like I'm guiding their choices in some meaningful way. It's hard for me to be turned off by an MC, but I will say that there was one game, WVM I think, where the MC was such a self-righteous prick, who always got everything they wanted, that eventually I did hate them too much to play the game anymore. That was a pretty edge case, though.

Can someone tell me why opening save screen is that much painfull? Literaly all games uses left mouse lick and esc button for leading save screen as a base screen so this game should have used that aswell....

What‘s happening in „Literaly all games“ is that a right click opens the game menu, with the save menu preselected. This is not the case here as the menu screen simply isn‘t the default one. Personally I like it that way, since it makes it stand out among „Literaly all games“.
In the end it‘s one additional click to get to the save screen. I don‘t think it‘s painful, as you say.

Well, let me explain.

I think this is a pretty damn good VN and I'm really enjoying the story.

I think this is hands down graphically and visually the best Honey Select based game I've ever seen by far. I just want to point out that the MC's model is dull and too plain when compared with the rest of the main characters.

My 2 cents, of course.


Anyway, I am at the end of this last update right now and still I don't know what to do with Harper. I just want to help her down and go home but storywise I feel I'm going to miss something in the future this way . However, I'm totally sure of what I'd do with Hana after I came back home.

Yes, WVM is absolutely unrealistic from this point of view, the idea to avoid NTR end up to a world in which every male except the protagonist is a gay, a complete asshole or the bad guy.

Interesting prespective on WVMs MC..... not how I read it honestly or the intent on which it was written knowing the Dev. The MC for PC to me is more self righteous/sociopathic in my opinion, he is literally playing with people lives for a pay check where as the MC is WVM is just trying to help people, if they fall for him thats fine, its a poly/harem game that doesnt have NTR because thats how the Dev wants it, there is drama from bad people, not all males are gay or bad people, just a couple IIRC. MC in PC obviously loves watching is own mothers porn vids, like getting gang-banged, routinely and thinks its perfectly fine....

I like both games but trying to compare them really is not possible as the premise for both is too different. Play what you prefer but dont trash it in another games thread just cause its not your thing.

You quoted my thread, so I assume you read it...I wasn't comparing the games, I was saying that I rarely try to roleplay the MC of a story, and that it's an edge-case where an MC is so unlikeable TO ME (note: other people might find the MC very relatable) that I quit a game over it. The only example where I could think of it ever happening was WVM. That's not shitting on the devs game, which besides my issues with his/her MC was otherwise very well executed.

(Also, I don't see any evidence in PC that the MC enjoys getting gang-banged? I must have missed a scene)

Was not talking about the MC being gang-banged, was talking about how he likes to watch his mothers porn vids from when he was a child, mainly inregards to him being a sociopath, one of which was a gang-bang. Was mainly curious why you didnt like the MC in the other game though but its not anything serious just piqued my curiosity, this is not the place for that discussion thought so disregard.

But is it really unrealistic that an up and coming sports star would have that kind of pull in an area/country that loves the sport? Overblown maybe but not entirely unrealistic, Coke lost millions/billions cause one soccer player removed the drinks from around him at a conference and prompted water instead....... that is unrealistic to me but I bet if he wanted he could have the same/better life then the MC in WVM. Any woman he wanted and none would complain about him banging 100+ others as long as they get some too... so is it really that unrealistic? LOL
