Can they even sell this game on steam? I haven't seen any games made with Honey Select models sold on steam.

The ones made with Daz models have the license to create images and sell games with those images. Not sure if Honey Select has the same licensing, but would be great for this game to get more publicity on steam.
Interesting, I didn't know that. Explains why other popular games like Eternum and Ripples aren't there either.

This has been discussed here before and how I understand it this is exactly the problem: Games using the HS models can't be sold because you don't get a commercial license.

Exactly! Illusion, the makers of "Honey Select" or "Koikatsu", do not give out commercial licences. Unreal and Unity, to name some other known game engines, do so. Unreal is even rather generous when it comes to licence stuff. Unless you make quite a couple bucks (above a million) with your UE game, image or program, you don´t have to pay any fees or get licence headaches.

no, Steam doesn't allow HS games

It is less that Steam, for all their numerous flaws, does not allow HS games, but it is a licence thing. Illusion, the maker of HS, does not give out commercial licences. So Steam naturally only puts up HS or Koikatsu stuff from Illusion itself.

There is a lot of discourse about characters and story here and lots of walls of text when that happens, as dolfe67 mentioned above.
What this thread does not have is that annoying ad infinitum "waifu wars" that happen pretty much every day on Being a DIK thread.
I suspect the reason for the waifu wars is PinkCake, both in BaDIK and Acting Lessons, first allows players to fool around with the ladies, but eventually force them to commit to one, thus gamers have to defend their choice as being the "best and only right choice," whereas with Harem games, all girls are available (or universally unavailable like Victoria) to the player who is at liberty to embrace, accept, or reject any and all women. Yes, while there are debates on "Best girl", players engaging with all girls and preferencing ones based on taste allows the "have your cake and eat it too" paradox. Like I'm not a fan of Mina or Hana as LIs (friends, yes) and my fav is Rose, but since I get all the same content as the Mina lovers, I just chuck it up to "different strokes for different folks".

Yeah, just means the devs need more of our support!

Hopefully enough that they license more music from other genres besides bossa nova.

By the way, has there been any game choices with firestarter yet?

LoL! When it comes to licences and music for erotic games, take a look at "Where it all began" and "Summer´s gone". Ocean went about it rather professionally compared with the money available, but the devil is in the details. The music can be become a real problem if licences are needed.
He had good song choices, but some musicians jumped from the bandwagon when they learned it is for an erotic game. Doubtful that it would be easier for TD and GiL.

Does this game have ntr?
Not really. Unless you are bothered by far side girls, who by the way are escorts, with other men. There might be scenes where some of the main LI are available to other men due to the story, but its more likely not so due to the NTR common adversion.

Well, depends what you exactly mean by that. One of the carnations is married and you can...interact with her ( :BootyTime: ) in her husband's office for example. And the MC can help a girl cheat on her - also cheating - boyfriend.

So, if that is the NTR you're looking for, there is some of it in the game.

Looks like it's time for a new Dev Diary!
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

First things first, I certainly hope GIL is feeling better! But moving on to things we can quantify, it looks like our devs have added 292 statics, 9 animations and 1283 words in the last three weeks - an average of roughly 97 statics, 3 animations and 2050 words per week. Overall, they are averaging ~120 statics, 2.1 animations and 3460 words per week since work on Chapter 4 Update 3 began. Here are the charts:

If TD is hoping to wrap up Veronica's content this month, we're probably looking at adding somewhere on the order of 300-400 more statics and 8-12 more animations to the totals (based on current rates). That would put this update on the smaller side, but not egregiously so. So I'm still expecting they will decide to end Ch4Up3 at a single day and release it at that point. But that's just looking at the raw numbers; it's entirely possible things would look very different if I saw the writing. If Veronica's date isn't a good beat to pause the story on I could see TD and GIL pressing on to make this a bigger update.

Basically not much to do but wait patiently and see which way the wind blows when we finally get to the decision point.

So that update would be Tuesday...that event with Felicia was on Wednesday, right? So that would then be the next update, I presume? Well...seems like the development will go on for another couple of years. :ROFLMAO:

Depends on where we cut the update. This could end up being one giant Carnation-centric update, including Felicia's content, but we'll see. Part of me is favoring more frequent updates and seeing how that works out for us, but I also want to advance the plot more steadily and substantially per update. Doing both would be ideal, but I'll consider succeeding in at least one area a success for this update. Last update was one day long and took a long time and I absolutely hated that.

And... a couple of years would be very optimistic. :KEK: I'd over the moon if we somehow managed to pull the completed tag off in that time frame, but we have two exhibitions, another week and a half of day content, and the epilogues.

I mean..."a couple of years" can be like...6 or 8. :HideThePain:

As long as you don't end up burning out on your own game and abandon it half way through like so many others, it will be fine.

Yeah, a lot can change in that amount of time and interest can wane. I’ve dropped off from alot of games like Being A DIK, Summer Time Saga, etc years of development.

Can’t imagine following a game development for that long but then again Star Citizen backers are still a thing.
