Damn, I remember this issue. I honestly thought my game had soft-locked its progression and I had to start all the way the fuck over from the beginning, but luckily that wasn't the case. The game is already a bit of a huge grind with its monotony and lagginess.
The dev really needs to clean up event priorities, or at the very least add in some way for players to influence what event they want to see. Could also use a "hint book" like in Summertime Saga instead of the walkthrough on the Patreon blog which can be a mess to follow sometimes.
Is there any other way to play this game then in the standalone flash-player?

I don't know whether this will be work for you but, this is how I solved it. My Windows is installed on SSD, and downloaded files go to HDD. If I open the file from Downloads(HDD), mine is the same, a blank screen. But I move it to the Desktop(SSD) and it runs. Maybe there are some different disks on your computer too, so you can try this.

0.29 is bugged like hell at the beginning.
Some scenes stop and won't let you progress, like when you meet your colleagues.
It doesn't freeze but you're just stuck on a piece of dialogue.
0.28 worked fine for me, problems started occurring with 0.29.

same for me. stick to 0.28 for gameplay. get 0.29 and cheat the gallery for the new scenes.
