How do you feel about sandbox/hybrid-sandbox games? (Pick 1-2)

  • I prefer sandbox games above all else.

  • I don't mind them if they are done right.

  • I generally avoid, but will make exceptions.

  • No. Burn em all to the ground.

i like the game so far. my one critique is jade keeps calling mc Guy. Idk why.
That could be a placeholder for a nickname or title?! I noticed it too, was a tidbit annoying but already forgotten with the next "page/screen".

I call my best friend "Tim". That isn't his name, at all... Why? Because... (Fuck I can't even remember why... it just is)

He doesn't call me by my name either.

Peace :D

Alright, so to touch on this without spoilers.

First up, the expansion events and such will multiply the workload, which is why I won't be bringing the expansion content until I'm further along as a developer and more able to do said additional renders within a reasonable time frame.

As for your list of things, Brannon did a pretty decent response IMO, but to give an official response see below.

This is my point though, you need to do a better job of getting this lore in your head into the game, maybe just put in a basic info thing to explain stuff in bios.

All in due time. A lot of the stuff you're interested in is just around the corner with a new character. The story is still in it's infancy and has only just left it's prologue state. Bear with me bud.

It's a colloquialism akin to calling someone dude or bro.

Picked it up myself from a youtuber that I watch. It's just meant to be a play/friendly way to refer to each other short of their name.
A Canadian youtuber a watch callled Skapegote says it too. I know what it means i just meant it doesn't seem to fit her. No offense meant just my small constructive criticism

Yup! xD Love SkapeGote. His lil spats between him and Books where they just keep calling each other "Guy" is where I picked it up from. If you see me in his stream chats on youtube feel free to say hi x3

Think of Books and how she uses it when Jade uses it. 100% goober with 110% sass.

Yes, I understand, but with smaller slow updates which I also understand, it just feels like it is taking forever to get answers for such an interesting story.

Please no. What the hell? In medias res is a literary technique identified as such from as long ago as the friggin' Romans. Even that it was already understood that tedious info dumping and endless setting up was bad technique as opposed to naturally revealing information as appropriate.

Please don't give bad writing advice. Overexplaining does awful things to storytelling; it's an absolute drag, always feels clunky and artificial, and doesn't give enough space for the author to die (as in, give room for the reader's interpretation and speculation instead of relying solely on the author's intention).

I think it's the capitalisation that confuses people, when you say guy you just mean some guy, when you say Guy you mean a person called Guy.

Yeah, I can agree with this a bit. It's always a bit of a tossup.

In my opinion, I prefer the lowercase "guy" because it feels less formal(weird word to use for that?) but from what I remember it's grammatically correct to capitalize nicknames. I'm just not entirely sure if you would consider calling someone Guy/guy as a term of endearment, which wouldn't be capitalized.

Hun/Hon
Dude
Bro
Buddy
Nerd
Guy

I'm not sure what falls where for nicknames vs terms of endearment sort of conditions.

I agree with this pretty heavily, but I also think there's a happy medium to be found.

I feel that some sort of bio/index system for characters/places would be interesting to do. Not something that's shoved in your face, but instead a sort of compendium of information you can go look at in-game whenever you want, for the people who are into getting lost in all the little details. Perhaps with a phone icon or something like many games do.

As for lore speed, however, things will come in due time. I don't want to spoil the story or undermine it by shoveling lore out on the back of a truck when no one is ready for it. It's a good thing to have suspense and mystery to things and not everything needs to be explained. Sometimes not knowing is part of the fun of it all.

Depends.
If the player named their MC "Guy" the answer is yes.

Thing is "guy" is not technically a title he got bestowed like King, Archbishop, Lord, ...
I said technically because under circumstances it can be treated as such and THEN you are correct.
