I've said it was going to be a small update a few times in different posts. Wasn't sure which you saw so I wanted to make sure that you saw the explanation post.

Windows Defender has a lot less problems than most AV's, constant advertising, and integration everywhere, so browsers and mail programs and others get all kind of problems.

Windows defender is good enough nowadays for the average user you dont really need paid AVs anymore.
True you said it would be small. It was about 118 renders ya? Well now you can quantify the approximate size to better give some expectation to any naysayers or supporters. Still love the story but would have been content with 2,3 or 4 months for a couple hundred renders to further the story.

If you still don't trust it, the only thing I can offer is that you join the discord and check the download links and get v1.10.2, which I've repackaged into a .rar file instead of a .zip, which seemingly does away with the falsepos flags.
This is the first time in going on 3 years that I've ever ran into this issue and I honestly couldn't even begin to tell you why. All previous versions of the game up to v1.10.0 work without any flags. It's only 1.10.1 that is shitting the bed. The only difference in the files between .0 and .1 is like 5-6 typos.

PLEASE!!?? For the sake of everything good in this world! Keep this a choice-based VN! Adding any type of sandbox to this will utterly kill the chill vibe I get from reading and enjoying the visuals. Including this update? I've re-read a dozen times. I'm beggin' here! Please don't!!!

Currently, the cast that you've seen in the game so far and some that are coming soon are all core group members. They won't all be living with MC right away but will be eventually.

I've yet to decide one way or the other bud. I really enjoy the flow of things so far too, so I wouldn't throw all of that away in favor of a sandbox. The only way I'll do a sandbox is if I can retain the same warm and cozy feeling that the game has with a very simplistic system that doesn't require some in-depth walk-through to complete. I really don't want to sell out one crowd in favor of another. I also can't deny the ability of a sandbox system to slow down the user base a bit and make the game feel larger than it is.
You have my promise that I'll really do some research and some VERY thorough testing on how any sort of sandbox system feels well before it's ever released.

The problem is, many of us know this is the real reason behind sandbox, to artificially extend gameplay time without really adding story or content
Which is why many of us try to stay away from such games, since they are made with the intention to make you lose time
Yeah, you're not wrong there. I think it'll come down to some sort of balance. Personally, I can appreciate sandbox games to an extent as they let me repeat content that sometimes is just too good to play through only once.
All food for thought. Fear not, it'll be quite a while before I do sandbox stuff and IF I even do sandbox stuff at all.

Personally the reason why I strongly prefer games not to be sandbox, is because it makes them a nightmare to replay when needed.
If the game gets updated and the saves break, a sandbox game is just painful to replay to get to the new content.
A VN you can speed through everything while making your choices and quickly and painlessly get to the new content.

My reasoning to block and ignore almost all Sandbox games is Story Fragmentation.
What do I mean by this?
Well, I prefer to read stories in a sequential form. Sandbox games, take all the pages of the book, throw them to the wind and tell you to go and find the pages that are spread everywhere, out of sequence, with no connection.
Why do they do it? To artificially extend play time. To force the absurdity of repeating the same action expecting different results. To turn the story into a puzzle that will never be complete because some pieces aren't in the game.
Instead of reading a pleasant story, after hours and hours of unsuccessfully combing through the navigation maps, looking for the crumbs of story here and there, you are, as the creators intended, frustrated and confused with no idea what the story even is or if you missed anything by doing things out of a hidden (on purpose) arbitrary order that you are never informed about.
That's when I delete the game files, the saves and ignore the game, also place the Dev on a list of distrusted creators.
If this is going to be a Sandbox game, I prefer to do it right now, and not even bother with what was a nice story.

I've heard that from 4 different creators before. All of them ruined their game. Because you are indeed planning to do so, otherwise you wouldn't even breach the idea.

Just do understand that there's a difference between planning to do something and considering doing something. Planning to buy a car is intending to. Considering buying a car is weighing out your options and going from there.
