Alderian News!

Hey guys,

sorry for the long bout of radio silence recently, this month has been difficult for us, but we are making steady progress and WILL be releasing an update this month.

I have no doubt there are many questions as to *why* there's been such silence recently and without going into too much detail, it's been a mixture of factors such as the holiday period, staff illness, and unfortunately some of our staff, including our animator live in regions like Peru which at the moment are very unstable and we've simply struggled to make contact with some of the team.

I myself was also on holiday, (it kept getting re-booked due to covid and while I did communicate and co-ordinate with the team from abroad I did not have my usual equipment with me).

We are looking long term into ways to prevent this from happening again, but this is the reality of having a small team spread across the world.

With all that said, the latest update is looking incredibly promising, and should not only move the main plot forward, but also:-

-Introduce some minor gambling

-Improved the travel mechanics

-There is now a much more intuitive shop mechanic

-More locations and more!

Anyway, that is everything for now, thank you to everyone who is still supporting us and has shown patience in this time. Soon the update will be ready and once again we're sorry for the recent radio silence.

The world of Mirnos #3


The Elves are a long with-standing proud race from Synmaria, a land to the North of Alderay across the Mystic Sea.
Elves for centuries have become regarded as leaders for the height of modern fashion, thanks to their incredible tailorship abilities, and highly skilled architects, creating some of the most beautiful structures across all of Mirnos.

While not as known for their war prowess, Elves are a more than capable military force within their own right, even despite the subsequent defeat of Varamos and the Dark elf Encroach, splitting once again the elves and dark elves factionally.

The Elvish army remains one of the largest in all of Mirnos, wielding many powerful magically users.
Elves themselves now maintain (mostly) friendly relations with humans and the other races, who have since the dark Elf-encroach, worked hard to build bridges in the hopes nothing similar would ever arise again...

It is often said, Elves, (especially dark elves), can be cold upon initially meeting them, but once they warm up to you, they are a truly passionate people.

The latest update is now out and available to the Aristocrat tier and above! (Including the cheat codes!) and

0.146 changelog:
General:
- world map & travel
- dros romance & corresp. content
- mal's shop is now working - church location
- new mc artwork
- black diamond arena
- skill tests, currently used for charisma rolls in quests. Whenever you see one, you'll see a "drama" icon (two masks). Percentage tells your odds on "passing" the skill test.
- cheat menu replaced with cheat codes
Party battle:
- a bunch of combat sounds
- cancel skill button
- music lists as opposed to fixed tracks
- floating numbers (dmg)
Quests:
- From Another World quest now ends with a tavern scene
- The Dark Knight quest (after From Another World)
- The Bloodhound quest (after The Dark Knight)
- A Graceful Rebirth quest (after High Fashion)
qol/fixes:
- a bunch of 'Regina's replaced with [regina_ref]
- restored accesibility menu (a key)
- restored self-voicing (v key)
- made "goodbye" choices always the bottom-most ones
- sometimes waiting would be blocked if ya skip too fast, not anymore (hopefully)
- arwen scenes static placeholders replaced with anims
- bunch of typos/text edits (umicans anyone)
- consistent infection change across any and all sex scenes
- startup disclaimer is a text now, not a picture

Probably not honestly.

Being a 2D game, every sex scene and numerous story CGs would need dozens of variations and coding to account for which image appeared on screen.

It'd simply be too much work.
And if you do a cycle for the face according to the model type?... Example: model 1 = hair+ complete beard. model 2 = hair + no bigot + chin hair... until last model with no hair no beard, then, depending on the model used, on every sex scene call the model that correspond by the face cycle.

It would be (relatively) straightforward to do it with the in-game character model.

However, the way the sex scenes work is they are essentially pre-done video loops, this helps prevent jankyness and keeps the download size from ballooning. What that means however, is each change to the animated part of the sex scene is its own seperate animation loop/vid that the game would call forward to play, so we'd end up with like 20 different callable loops per sex scene to accomodate character model changes. (Each of which would cost money and take time)

Then, you have the story CGs, these are pretty much literally just PNGs, so the artist would have to manually draw each variant change independently for display. So while not impossible, it would be difficult and time consuming to go heavily into.
