Gonna leave a review, for anybody who may read:
Parasite in City is, if you dig side-scrollers, pixel-art, or zombies (plus extras), or any combination thereof, likely one of the best porn games you'll play. It's superb animation and art design are its greatest selling points. The female heroine is gorgeous, and the enemies are terrifying, especially if you're new.
I'll do a brief overview of the game's pluses and minuses, beware some minor spoilers (not that there's much to spoil).
I'll go over the good points first:
- The animation, as said before, is top-notch. Every animation, be it a sex scene, masturbating, or reloading, has had great care and attention made to each. The quality of the animations more than make up for the fewer enemy types and animations (compared to some games, where there are dozens, but each fairly bland)
- Each enemy is pretty unique, and has their own gimmick (barring the first basic type)
- Enemies can sometimes join in the fun if an enemy has grappled and began to fuck the player character, leading to unique animations.
- Art style is excellent. The detailed pixel-art style gives the game a feel unique to it, compared to other similar titles.
- Controls are not bad once you get used to them, and once you get the hang of them the game can be pretty straightforward. You can also aim up and down to target certain enemies.
- The sound design isn't bad (though there are exceptions), though there is no background track or music of any kind.
However, there are some criticisms:
- There are only 3 levels. They aren't bad levels, and the 3rd brings some interesting verticality and things you need to do to progress, but ultimately it's fairly standard, and it's rare that you need to move in a different direction for more than a few seconds / to dodge an enemy attack.
- Some enemies are cheesy. (I mean one; the one that infinitely spawns facehugger-esque jumping fuckers. These also have my least favorite animation, as it happens.)
- The game is honestly pretty simple once you learn it. There's also no variation in enemy spawns barring the facehugger-like things, and flies if you let their animations finish..
- The game has a habit of throwing waves of enemies at you, which can be a problem with limited ammo. Even with unlimited ammo, it can be a source of frustration
- The incessant droning of the fly enemies makes me want to punch something. It can be really off-putting if you can't tune it out. The pregnancy mechanic of the flies is also horrifying, and I hate it (though that is personal preference)
- Though mentioned before, a limited enemy roster (7 including the boss), though the animation quality and combination of enemies in ero-scenes make up for this.
- There's not much of a story beyond 'Escape city, don't get fucked', though to be honest, this is all it needs.
Despite the issues I listed, much of it is small and has minimal effect on the actual game. I will say it has kept me coming back despite me repeatedly deleting it (as I am wont to do on occasion). It's a good-quality game, and really is the high bar for many sex games.
TLDR: A few issues, but ultimately a very high-quality game that's well worth a play if you have some time.
