I don't know the real answer, but my suspicion is all versions will properly have DRM as public versions tend to be bug fixed versions of the patreon version just a longer wait till they're available.

Its basically that they trying to avoid people like us here in trying to get a hold on the game with piracy.

When they say leaks they would literally talk about F95 Zone.

This is basically what they said on Itch.io

You will need an internet connection when entering your verification key.
The key will be available:

• In the update release post on Patreon and SubscribeStar

• In the private Discord channel accessible for the required tiers

Keys are automatically refreshed on a regular basis.

1 update of the game was shared ahead of the 3week if i'm not wrong but after that it was updated from the 3week public release.
There are few other thread that have a delayed update "agreement/policy" to let Dev/Artists have some funds although a few thread that follow through for "Videos makers" get to found those videos release day-one on video sharing site.

This, while the website may be a piracy site, there are still some codes and ethics we follow. You like a game support them, or let them have their support a little while more from community before releasing the paywall stuff.


if its always released day 1 of them updating they wont feel appreciated for their work and just give up.

its the old "Only takes one person to ruin a good thing" scenario... We will either get another form of annoyance (the DRM) or a Nuclear option (where the whole project just goes bye bye and they say its not worth wasting the time anymore to create stuff).

You should see so many of the artists who GAVE UP because their art was feeding an AI LLM to create copies of their works and sell it off in quick bucks over their own commissions.

it is a cruel world out there for artists now man, should know... seen it happen too much lately.

I hope the delayed update agreement hasn't been broken, atleast last time it happened here it was from somewhere outside F95 (please correct me if I'm wrong tho) that was then shared here.
Still public releases tend to have fixes and be more polished than early access in this game case

I played the last version until the electric floor place then quit, I'm intrigued at the infection path.

Other than environments and some other minor changes the only new content is the infection path which consists of 4 scenes, one of which has Oni give birth to a spreader parasite. There is no continuation of the story after you get back to the doctor.

While it's overall a pretty terrible system, the WORST part is need a new verification code EVERY time you launch the game. Utterly ridiculous.

I would've bought the game on Steam on launch day ,but blocking access to everyone except patron's is a horrible move,I hope this is just like an early-access thing ,and the rest of us get it after a few days/weeks.

Off of what I recall it was just so early access Patreons could still get it ahead of everyone else, Free probably is still coming a few weeks later. if not then yea bigger issues would arise

i dont understand is 0.4 version will release after couple weeks with patch 4.x or will be release with next big release

...I thoroughly hope the developer's entire customer base will give him the finger after he's tried to pull this bullshit. The idea that adding obnoxious DRM rubbish to a game would somehow "prevent leaks" is just idiotic. He really deserves to fail miserably at this point.

Really, he is not punishing us pirates, he is just fucking over his already paying customers with this. Christ have mercy... The sheer idiocy of some people...
