i dont understand is 0.4 version will release after couple weeks with patch 4.x or will be release with next big release

From what it says on the update regarding public, it'll be released when the content update for 0.4.X (they've been doing these mid-version content update that tend to flesh-out previous version content and also add new one but not on the scale of a 0.X) is close to release, so maybe like a week or half a month before, we can expect the next public version either from 3 weeks to a month from now at the earliest, depends how long they take on working on it, I do hope they don't take long but to me it feels some bridges are starting to being burnt thanks to the last leak from the last few versions...

So, is this guy going to then spend all of their time just making new keys for this? Cause the combo of apparently single use verification keys and needing to re-verify every time you go to the main menu, might just be the stupidest "leak prevention" method i've ever heard of before.
Heck, i'd even go as far to say to say its one of the stupidest things i've heard in general.

Personally, I'm not sure if its counts as 'dooming' when various negative outcomes appear significantly more likely then positive ones.

Make me wonder if the leak prevention has something to do with the 3D animator recruitment notice the Dev posted.

Would it have been better to lock the game with steam playtest rather than online verification key for leak prevention.
Wasn't Cheat engine enough to make by-pass for online verification or something?

So the delayed free release is still a thing not really sure what the label as Demo mean, the game is an EA anyway it may/should have been there from the start.
The free demo won't be release after the 3weeks mark but when the last Bugfix version is ready then if i read that post correctly.

Don't get why some members react like it's the "Top 3 most traumatic Anime betrayal of the Centuries".
It's kinda like you would rather steal each gold coin being added to the treasure chest than waiting for the treasure chest to be full and go for the steal.

Doubt it, though I dont remember when the animator recruitment was posted. went back through the old convo and saw it was nearly 8 months ago that he started to talk about the leaks getting out so fast and needing to do something about it. Kodman did seem awfully reluctant to do the verification back then

The same was for DZ at least (don't remember FD if they ever had free version), and that ended right after online DRM was introduced. So will this one be different this time? I would be really happy to be wrong.

I would recommend waiting until the public test drop or any new statement from him comes out, for the moment cracking it at this moment will likely fuck up all goodwill remaining from him, thankfully the previous leak was from outside this site. I don't think his patrons will be happy with this sudden change of affairs and he seems very open to feedback both from us and the patrons

yeah i wouldnt want that either tbh. but lookin at why kodman even added online verify… its kinda on players too. if the game gets leaked before he even drops it free by dev, any dev gonna step on that thin drm ice.

Considering iirc he made it free after less than a month.. yea lol those leaks really screwed it for everyone else. Maybe later on depending on the size of the game he can just get by without even needing DRM but atp its better to get rid of the rats

I don't think there's anything particularly wrong with the dev wanting to put DRM on the latest version of the game, especially when he's still putting out the previous version out for free. For his paying customers, this particular DRM is minimally invasive (and doesn't seem particularly secure), it's not some always-online nonsense like what Helius did.

Unless you're dying from some terminal disease and completely broke from paying for treatment, I think you can afford to either wait or throw 5~10 bucks at the project once to access the latest update.

I don't crack games unless devs make a dick move against a community that gave them initial boost (like DZ dev did in the past). Making DRMs and locking content to some extent is fine while you occasionally do public releases and communicate.

doubt it. usually it was 3 months give or take. either way they had to overhaul the map and updated some stuff add in the DRM which also takes time and yu get double the wait time.
