Really disappointing seeing people trying to paint this as another fallen doll or Delta Zone, if Dev stated there wouldn't be any more public builds, then fine, fuck it, hack this shit to the ground, but we know a Public build is in the way and dev won't stop releasing them, I don't like DRM and I'm not happy with the current situation with this game, but well I feel that insisting and trying to force the current situation will end up fucking up everyone, atleast the guy is being reasonable and I'm actually surprised he hasn't gone on a tirade or directly blamed this site, unlike other devs in similar situations in the past as I have been witness to, even avoiding saying the name despite being obvious the leak was from here, I know this is going to fall on deaf ears, but maybe we can reach a compromise to get an estimate on public release timeframe so we can all calm our tits here.

There will always be those who will support the developer and those who will support the poor. It's useless to argue who's right and who's wrong, it won't change anything. Those who are not indifferent will be "on both sides of the barricades"
What part of "free" is hurting the poor? Part of the reason I will defend this particular Dev is because he offers a FREE, full version that is regularly updated. I know of maybe 3 Devs who are active here who will do that. The last Dev we want to burn is one who is trying to be accessible to everyone. All you will accomplish by taking away what income they can make, is ending any further content, and turning a generous person into a bitter angry person. What do you suppose the poor will receive from them?

forcing users who support you the most (patreons and subs) to use online verification and generally make the game more difficult to play isnt being reasonable. I understand he wants to get more support but making life harder for your most supportive users isnt the way to handle it. Especially when its shared instantly and will likely be cracked to bypass verification. Pirates will generally have a better experience than his most loyal supporters.

i dont understand y people are talking about piracy this piracy that and poor dev or fuck dev when the bottom line is any game that requires internet access permanently to function should b frowned upon intrinsically (unless im missing something and the code "activates" the product on initial enter)

I updated my original post, but it's a partial win as now the dev is offering one time permanent keys rather than constant re-verification

Look, the Dev offers a FREE Public version... a full version, not a demo, that is updated on the same schedule as the Patreon version. You cannot blame them for protecting their freaking livelihood ffs. You expect they will continue to make a game they make no money from? You want more of this game, stop stealing from an active Developer who is GIVING you a free version of it. Fuck people.
I am not playing it for fun. I am just testing and suggesting. If that is not required anymore, so be it. I am moving elsewhere.
So far the game made a good impression. Maybe I would buy a full release version. But I am not convinced that the patreon scheme is giving the right incentives to finish a game. I like the early access model from steam though. If the game was available there, I could convince myself to pay ONCE.

I made a ue4ss mod to skip the new verification menu. Install the latest experimental release for ue4ss from their (Extract "ue4ss" and "dwmapi.dll" into "ParasiteInside/Binaries/Win64"), then extract my mod "verification_bypass" into the "ue4ss/Mods" folder. You can replace the default mods.txt with mine if you want just to enable it quicker, otherwise you gotta edit mods.txt to enable it manually.

Use Ctrl-F1 once the verification screen fades in to skip it. It'll probably break the UI if you use it anywhere else, so don't do that.

Kinda curious how the system is designed so that (let's say) a couple of thousand requests in an hour can effect an unintentional DoS.
Like, a naive implementation would just create generate a key every hour and push it to discord, then when client connects it compares them and return an ok - cost per request? Negligible. No sensible hardening (beyond basic TLS) that I can think of considering the frame (hourly new keys, online check) that I can think of requires much computation on a per-request basis.
The keys getting updated every couple of minutes there makes me wonder if the every n attempts, a new key gets generated, and generating the key is really expensive (but why? The key is the shared secret, you could just use the output of a CSPRNG).
