The dev would've had to rework the entire code for his update and chose to abandon the game instead. I think that it is more of a case of not enough support / patreons.

I was good enough that I was following it. I really wanted to see where the whole elf story went. Oh well. 
Sorry if I'm asking too much but this is the first time I've learned of this issue. Is this game still going (even though it is stated as "Abandoned") or no more for good?

. I still don't understand why there was a need to recode the entire game, it was fine as is.His entire project was corrupted after rendering/finishing the update. He regained some of the files but still had to re-code most of the game again. Sadly, he didn't believe in backing up his files and it destroyed his motivation to keep going. . Knowing how long it took to code the game, I can see why he'd be demotivated.I hope he does too. Its why I supported him. The very first update was 1.5gb. I knew it was worth helping him out to develop after already worked on it for a while without asking for anything.
The game wasn't cancelled for no reason!
To iterate, update 1.6 was nearing its completion and the gamefiles became corrupted.
And I had a 9 to 5 job and the rest of the day was on Passion City.
So I could only work whenever I got home.
Losing everything was heartbreaking for me, and it got me quite depressed. A LOT was done.
So people wouldn't say I was lying or faking it, I changed the permissions on the patreon rooms on discord so everyone could see the changes being made over the days.
So now, three months have passed and I'am currently in quarantine and I've started making another game and slowly getting the feeling I had for H Game Dev, its still in its very rough state but as a small playable demo so you can see what the game is all about.
Same discord as Passion City:
Won't make another F95 Thread until the game is at a nicer state with more content.
That's about it.

Someone talked about that a few posts ago, about why get abandoned, it's really sad the way it go, but glad to know you're having some inspiration back, hopefully we can see more about your project in the future! Loved the characters designs and everything in passion city.
