So you don’t give a shit about the porn games and are only whining about Sargon of Akkad and other “political commentators” getting banned? Because in that case why the hell are you on F95? This is a porn site for fucks sake. Barely any of us give a crap about anything other then porn games, which by the way, rarely get effected by Patreons rules, hell I can think of 7 games Or developers off the top of my head that clearly violate Patreon’s TOS and haven’t even had their pages blocked once. LOQO, SOC, Ravager, Everything Kaliyo has ever made, COC, COC II, and everything by Dystopian Project. Frankly if you want to bitch about Sargon getting banned? The F*** off to your Echo chamber on 4chan, snowflake, the rest of us don’t want to heat it here.
ah personal attacks how refreshing for one thing i have never been on 4chan good way to make assumptions though and porn games don't get censored what fucking rock are you living under every incest patch on this site only exists because of Patreon's censorship or are you just to stupid to realize that minor fact also i brought up Sargon at he very start as it related to Patreon censorship and intern them being sued which you responded you so obviously you cared enough now didn't you

I suppose one could attempt to convert a forum (like this) into a monetary platform that can be used to distribute trial versions (or small, functioning portions) of the game files for those who want something to masturbate to without having to shell over a cent. This would be beneficial to the artists, programmers, and the overall community; however, there's a few problems with this:

  • Even though this forum has a bit over 2.78 million registered users (with about 12,500 on at 5:00 GMT) that's pretty small in comparison to the massive user-base of Patreon.

  • You have different currencies that you'll have to keep track of as well as figuring out a small percentage of each transaction for financing the site.

  • I'm sure a ton of people would probably be very upset with such a drastic change since many people here prefer the current system where they can share games without having any trial restrictions.

  • Curating versus selling are very different and thus the laws surrounding each of those aren't always going to be 1:1. Right now the forum essentially curates the works by its members finding, collecting and presenting the content in a structured, easy to find manner. When you start selling/marketing content, then you're delving into some of the more strict laws for example:
    • Possession of zoophilic content (be it real or animated) is a misdemeanor in the state of Oregon.
    • Sale and distribution of zoophilic content is a felony in the following states: Washington, Illinois, Louisiana, and Pennsylvania.
    • outlaws all depictions of minors (even illustrated ones) in a sexual manner. This includes lolicon and shotacon content but it's still considered a legal 'gray area' simply because the chance of a conviction rests on the standing jury and the judge for each case.
There's too much going on and that's potentially why Patreon has to impose such restrictions to keep themselves from being wrapped up in a massive and complicated lawsuit.

Then by all means, bring up the game developers who got banned instead of political commentators because that would actually be fucking relevant. Funnily enough why is it that ONLY incest games seem to have trouble with Patreon’s tos, is possible it might be because the creators of said incest games are sometimes morons who insist on using titles that are blatant puns on incest such as, I don’t know “Insexual Awakening”, “Dating My Daughter”, and “Wife and Mother”. Hell considering that incest wegs STILL outnumber every other genre at 10:1 it’s pretty clear that the TOS for Porn devs is more of a safety net to cover Patreons ass then anything else. In other words, this sites focus is in no way in danger currently from anything except a frivolous lawsuit by a bunch special snowflakes, to use vernacular that I’m sure you‘re more then familiar with.

now this i appreciate a well rounded argument but even so this does not explain the banning of incest content it's 3d or 2d while real porn with fake incest is being made legally and is rather popular on porn sites it's purely moral objection now loli and beastiality are definitely a different story under law and Patreon could give substantial reason for banning it

Patreon has to impose restrictions, because of PayPal, PayPal sets the rules and Patreon has no other choice but to abide by those rules.

I figure that these decisions are moderated by humans but flagged by AI similar to the YouTube copyright system. I have no means of confirming this so take it as mere conjecture on my behalf until something is officially stated from Patreon themselves. I also figure that those who are flagging content might have partial responsibility which would explain the inconsistencies in their ban system. At the end of the day it's Patreon's platform and so they always have the final say on the direction they choose; for better or for worse.

That does make a ton of sense, especially when we look back at PayPal's own struggles with the major banks and governments that weren't so keen on the potentially anonymous nature of PayPal (at the time). People would bring up arguments regarding money laundering, cybercriminality, and a whole host of other potential problems to halt or impose restrictions on PayPal back then. I imagine that there are still cases in the works against PayPal (and others similar to PayPal such as Venmo) right now, but I haven't been actively looking for them.

Money talks, and it usually happens to be the loudest voice among the crowd.

Pornhub isn’t Patreon you idiot, they can set their own tos, in addition to that Pornhub USES DIFFERENT payment processors then Patreon does, so they don’t have to follow to same regulations that Patreon does. I get that the concept of a private company being able to determine what content they allow and what they don’t is perfectly legal seems to continually elude your insistence that corporations are bound by anti-censorship laws but this is just getting ridiculous.

listen i agree with you a private company can do whatever it wants as long as it's within the boundary of the law but just because they can do it doesn't mean i have to give them my money i like a lot of the dev's on this site including Domiek even though we disagree he personal trainer is one of my favorite games on the site it's hilarious but as long as it's on Patreon i can not in good conscience give him money now im not sure if he is on subscribe star or not

Incest gets flagged in with "nonconsensual" because 1) incest IRL is frequently associated with child molestation and 2) incest in games often features participants who by appearance or implication or both are underage, which, again, goes to consent issues. It's not complicated.

Notwithstanding that, there are tons of incest games on patreon making bank. Summertime Saga, Milfy City, Man of the House...probably 2 out of 3 of the top games are incest games or have incest elements. Even without explicitly saying it, players know what's going on.

So your only means of supporting them/him/her would be through a direct donation without going through Patreon since you have beef with Patreon. I can't blame you for wanting to avoid Patreon by principle or in protest, but I still feel that it's wrong to essentially strongarm developers to jump ship to another platform that could have a negative financial impact on their behalves. This feels like the whole Epic Games Store debacle all over again, I'm personally against Epic Games on multiple subject matters but I can't fault developers for the lucrative exclusivity benefits for releasing their games on Epic Games Store first.

I'm sure that one less supporter isn't anything significant to some of the more well-off developers out here, but it's only a valid solution when viewed from a personal perspective (i.e. walking a mile in your shoes I can understand your disgust with Patreon and your desire to avoid anything that could be supportive of Patreon in the meantime).

This isn't really something that ought to be up for debate seeing as it's a subjective matter, but it wouldn't be the internet if we didn't entertain ourselves with a debate on just about anything and everything. I just want you to know that I respect your opinions despite not sharing them, I'm not out here to throw shade or slander at someone for simply having a different point-of-view on matters.

you quite literally stated that [ONLY incest games seem to have trouble with Patreon’s tos] you mean the TOS that Patreon themselves created which means Patreon has a moral issue with incest content not a legal one unlike pornhub who don't care as long as it makes them money which is what i have been saying you braindead dolt and companies are bound by anti censorship laws what fucking world have you been living in facebook and twitter alone have been breaking those very same laws for years it's why mark zuckerberg was brought before congress

i have never cared about patreon rewards or any of that really just giving the dev the money is perfectly fine even better if they get all of it rather than a company taking a cut but i can see your point juggling so many accounts is a pain without adding more and thank you for having a cordial discussion i don't go out of my way to attack people personally either until they do it to me at least

Except A) Incest games are the only ones who really have problems with Patreon unless the dev posts nude breasts in a public post (Which has happened..once? In the last 4 years)
B) Their TOS QUITE CLEARLY says they consider Incest a bannable offense, and even then they still allow games that are transparently incest to get around it with things like "Landladies" and "Housemates".
C) Facebook and Twitter are private companies, so unless the government passes laws to regulate social media platforms and their policies, they canarbitrarily ban whoever the hell they want.
D) No shit Patreon doesn't really care as long as they make money, that's been the case with EVERY corporation and business since humans invented bartering, of course they're going to ignore things that are harmless and make them money as long as they can get away with it.

Finally if you want to refuse to give money to Patreon because you disagree with them and their policies towards creator content? That's your right as both a consumer and a human being, by the same token it's also my right to tell you that you can go to hell when you start all but demanding that devs switch to a platform guaranteed to make them less money because you hate Patreon and want it shut down.

Honestly its pathetic and sad when you defend companies that walk all over people, you end up looking like a cocksucker. This Domiek user trying to insult me, you would fit right in with shitty ass companies like EA and Activision. Can't stress enough how pathetic it is but it happens to often with sheep defending companies like cult members. Wont feel sorry for your ass when these companies decide to walk all over and shut your shit down. If your only worried about making money then art isn't for you, go find another trade.
We can bring up more facts to back up what we say but its always the company brownnosers and fanboys that deny everything. Can't explain this strange human phenomenon but humanity has some kind of aversion to the truth, it's pretty weak-minded and subhuman if you ask me.

unlike Pornhub Patreon do care though that is the point there is not a single law preventing 3d pictures of incest unless it involved a depiction of a child which they do not Patreon will not face a single legal ramification for fake incest pictures in a VN not one now language has meaning by dev's naming character landlandy and housemate they are utilizing a loop hole in the TOS and dev's have been caught doing this more than once and have been punished for it because it is not a perfect loop hole and yes Patreon facebook twitter are all private companies with there own TOS that go by there own beliefs and standards banning fake 3d incest is a choice the company made each TOS is different this is why twitter protects pedo's in there TOS people get banned for calling them out and by what great authority did i demand dev's move away from Patreon for a guy that likes calling people snowflake you sure like behaving like one

These threads always turn to shit because complaining is the easiest part. Hey F95 users, you want devs to leave Patreon and go to Subscribestar for example? Then go make yourself Subscribestar accounts and shift your pledges away from Patreon. Easy. Good job guys, we defeated Patreon.

The best part is that I did not defend Patreon a single time. I've even mentioned several times that none of us like Patreon. There is a very real possibility that you're mentally stunted and don't read so well. Why bother engaging in conversation if you're simply going to use your imagination instead of listening to what's actually said?

If your only worried about making money then art isn't for you, go find another trade.
These are the infamous words of entitled Karen's around the world. It's their holy mantra.

"ArT ShoUlD bE FREE if U RLLY LUV ArT!"

You obviously don't understand the basics of adulthood. It's time mommy kicks you out of the basement and makes you get a job so you can learn. You see, if you want to live in a house or apartment you need to pay rent. If you want food and electricity, you need to have money. If you want to create NSFW games you need food to survive and electricity to make your computer go brrrrrrrrrrr.

We can bring up more facts to back up what we say but its always the company brownnosers and fanboys that deny everything. Can't explain this strange human phenomenon but humanity has some kind of aversion to the truth, it's pretty weak-minded and subhuman if you ask me.

What facts did you bring up? All you did was mention a 34k userbase Patreon alternative, ignore the entire conversation discussing how it's not financially viable for a developer, and then cry that people won't make pedo games for you for free. Hey, at least you posted a neat ink spill picture thingy :giggle:
