So not addressing the whole main character thingy? Well yeah, figured that. With your imagination you surely imagined him not being portrayed very young. Now guess what most other people wouldnt, especially when they have the exact mindset that you have, but use it for more than the incest theme. I will grant you that its overdone, no reason to go the "its wrong in fiction" route though.

And also thats fine if you dont consider step relationships incest, but even that is still not ok for the platform we talk about. Not even using family words to address someon without even being related by blood at all.

You did not only wish there wasnt any, you went further, and thats what irked people. If every person is allowed to pick something they want gone from the world, there wouldnt be anything left. So think about that twice, since things you apparently also like, thats not incest, is also very very high on the list of things people would remove.

most entertainment forms are wrong in one way or another , and way people can complain about things these days, literally anything can be seen as wrong, it is getting crazy for sure.

however, incest has been seen as a taboo for a long time now, something everyone who posted in this thread knows, yet when it comes to patreon blocking incest in games, or me explaining what they know is true, they all start acting like a black person would if they called the n word.

also this thread started back up again, because someone tried to compare being gay to incest, saying patreon was supporting gays in there logo but yet not allowing incest. I just came into thread again to say that was ridiculous, but yet again, i got people jumping on me for saying what they know is true.
Alright so, lets try to clear this up, you are, for most people here, saying incest should be removed, and you said people that like it do so because they know its wrong. Not going to disagree there, there is the taboo factor that makes some things more appealing.

What further lead people to believe that you are also one of the persons that would actually want to ban, to remove it from games, is this paragraph:

"the whole "its only fantasy" is wrong, any excuse to allow incest is wrong. its actually getting beyond pointless watching people desperately defend incest in games, especially when they "know why it shouldn't be allowed".

Then, as pointed out, did you apparently play a game where, even real world legal wise, there might in some countries be a problem because of the main character. And that all lead to me thinking, you dont like the overdone incest theme, but are actually shoveling your own grave with your opinion that "its only fantasy" does not work for things. And thats the mindset thats baffling me, or you, under whatever reasons, say there is no correlation between the mentioned taboos. Which would then just tell me you are actually in denial about it, and force your "fantasy is no excuse" only on things you dont like.

Edit: One last explanation I came up with, you actually did not see any adult content in those games? Are you perhaps really playing for nothing remotely adult ever? Because while I did not try to, im pretty sure you can avoid all the content in the mentioned game.

Edit number 2: Nope my memory also reminded me you cant finish ZL without "participating" in the research with the lab lady.

I notice you comment step is illegal but you say absolutely nothing about my reason I gave for thinking step is OK, that is fine, it suits your argument better if you don't :)
There's not much to say about your "step is OK" argument, because it's true and there's nothing left to discuss. It's like "it's ok that sun rises every day", yes it is, end of story. Well, there's one thing, how it's possible that some people think it's not ok, and so strongly that they were able to make it illegal. Doesn't it bother you, when you know it's nonsense?
the right word is wrong, which is pretty much what forbidden means.
Maybe. But there's wrong and "wrong". Even in real world, there are many things seen as wrong or downright illegal, even when they are completely harmless and have no negative effect (or sometimes any effect whatsoever) on anyone and anything. And fantasy world is whole different story, anything is harmless, as long as it stays there.

actually I have said to people to go through this thread and see my posts, so I don't have to keep posting and defending myself, when I know my opinion on patreon changing guidelines is already on this thread.
As you've said a decent response deserves recognising. Your opinion is fine and agree or disagree I would hate a place where you couldn't make it. The trouble is you are making statements like "everyone knows it's wrong" and legally in the UK (I keep referring to the UK due to where you say you are from on your profile) you are correct. But you are also condemning people fantasising it and if people cannot have fantasy here, where can they have them?

yet I saw one person saying they couldn't be bothered, so I left with no choice but to keep defending my opinion, as much as SOME WISH I WOULDN'T. which is part of why I have at times tried to shut this down again by eluding am done and trying to get it back on topic of someone comparing incest to gays due to patreon logo.
And the best way, once you have stated your point is to do exactly that, be done, with it, make the choice not to respond or at least only respond to those that are willing to discuss and debate. But again to keep things civil on both sides it is best to avoid painting with a broad brush and stating opinions as facts.

I notice you comment step is illegal but you say absolutely nothing about my reason I gave for thinking step is OK, that is fine, it suits your argument better if you don't :)
I commented about it in my 1st response to you and I did elude to it the post you responded to. I use legality, 1) because this is the basis behind patreon's decision and 2) where opinions cannot be agreed upon, then we should resort to what the law says.
What you or I do in the privacy of our own homes, providing it is legal is of no concern to anyone else. Our opinions cannot be illegal so long as they are not intended to or by consequence cause harm or break other laws.
You have a very valid argument about step, but it is still illegal the moment the marriage takes place, that's the law. In my opinion adult sons and daughters of marriages that start a consensual relationship cause no harm and probably should be beyond the law and I would hate to imagine the minefield of a relationship between kids that subsequently the parents meet and get married....
Both me and my siblings will be in our 50s by the end of the year. Should 2 of us start a consensual relationship making sure that there is no biological argument against it (ie no chance of kids and I promise you the contraceptive involved is 100%). While it is illegal, what harm is there in it? Take it a step further, what if I only fantasised about such a relationship where is the harm in that?

its wrong because patreon said so, well actually ccbill who runs there payment side, after all, the thread is about patreon content guidelines, not my personal opinion, it just so happens I agree with patreon/ccbill.
This I can sort of agree with...
Sort of because of your wording - it is not wrong because Patreon say so.
It is not allowed on their site because they say so and while it is the basis of their reasoning legality has nothing to do with it, it is because they are a private company and as such can choose who they do not want to do business with.
Also it's not ccbill driving this, ccbill don't have an issue with adult content (I don't know where their red lines are), whereas paypal, the company really driving this, has an issue with all low paying pornographic content. I word it that way as they do not have an issue with violent content or adult content that brings them a lot of money (read incest and UA rape in GoT).

I come in here and find a fucknig 5 page debate about gay sex, incest laws in random countries, and horrible RPGMaker games, none of which have particulalry anything to do with Patreon's stance on adult content.

Why must 90% of the F95 user base be on the spectrum.

This shit is about to stop now or you're gonna be introduced to me.

Next person who continues this batshit asinine bickering is getting their inbox flooded with trap self sucking gifs as punishment.

It's only a matter of time until Patreon decides to tighten it's stance on All Adult Content on its site. :FeelsBadMan:

To be fair, that's only a problem if no viable alternative can be found.

Personally I don't think a monthly payment system is ideal for game development. It creates a lot of content, but not necessarily good content. There's a reason so many people bitch about abandoned 0.0001 versions and slow updates. In a way Patreon rewards developers for never finishing their games, as long as they can keep their customers hooked.

No offense to any devs intended. I know there are some great guys and gals working on quality content, many of which also frequent this forum.

Just as soon as their pay masters tell them to they will. It will depend on how much paypal sees their image being damaged compared with how much they are making.

What may be a better model might be some sort of subscription basis where funds are distributed on the basis of quality, some sort of voting system (I know many can be abused, I'm not proposing a solution :p) perhaps with a bonus for completion and maybe a tipping jar for each dev....who knows? I'm not clever enough to solve it, I know that much.

aaaaand... a year later, Flexible Survival, Fenoxo, Aika, and even FreeCitiesdev are still on patreon. Patreon will surely check any content, but it seems that the Trust and Safety Team is anything but severe, and that the "sanitizing tricks" work. Nobody would want that money to go away after all!
i still laugh about how the aforementioned developers could "pass" through the guidelines

The subscription crowdfunding platform Patreon confirmed that they are increasing efforts to review content, due to payment processor pressure.

The latest suspensions and the increased effort of reviewing are from them getting pressured by the payment processor.

Well, Sponsorion is supposed to launch this fall. They already answered a few questions and also said they would not be able to have Paypal as a payment option or else this whole story would just repeat itself. Probably sooner than later.

So basically you sacrifice a payment option for a lot more artistic freedom. Guess one upside is that you dont give anymore money to one of the roots of the whole problem.

Still wondering why they implemented an age/nsfw confirmation and still have to scrub everything clean on their website of even simple nudity. Thought that age/nsfw confirmation would be so people could at least show a breast on their page. Not even implied or covered nudity is allowed. You see more on Youtube, and that really means something.

So yeah, Sponsorion and perhaps Steam, please accomplish something.

now am completely against this, I can understand incest being banned , but it appears there a crack down on everything now, or at least heading that way, which is just completely ridiculous.

am not certain where this crack down coming from? certainly not patreon itself, it doesn't appear to be paypal or stripe, but the major banking networks themselves?
