Tough to say. We recently received a notification from Patreon that they are shifting most of their NSFW credit card processing to Great Britain so that they can continue to offer service. It's been a while without major news, but I strongly believe some alternatives to Patreon should come up fast, as the next crackdown on adult content might be around the corner. It's incredibly sad how payment processors dictate so much of what's allowed in our culture
sounds like that patreon is simply forced to censor or even block games with extreme tags to save themselves from getting sued. maybe that explains as to why they started to block games with incest tags and so on months ago.Tough to say. I'm not sure what the says between the lines, if U.S. processors are tightening up or not. But it does demonstrate to some degree that they are still willing to offer some level of support for us NSFW developers.

Exactly what I was trying to explain to people a year ago... have first hand knowledge about this stuff when I created and ran Renderotica... you have to find a way to minimize risk in tags and descriptions, as well as, art to avoid having your merchant account bail on you without warning and tying up your monthly funds (and extortion fees). In the adult industry, the BRAM program monitor the following BRAM violating
categories which are strictly prohibited by Visa and MasterCard :
• Drugged/Incapacitated
• Rape/Brutality
• Bestiality
• Blood/Mutilation
• Pedophilia
• Incest
• Necrophilia
No, it does not matter if it real or fake as they wrote the wording in blanket terms
So our site is going a different route to cover some of these categories
For those wondering BRAM stands for Business Risk Assessment and Mitigation
The problem is for us on the outside they are a black box. Who knows what they're thinking. But I have to believe they aren't stupid. I know NSFW content doesn't make up the largest part of their bottom line. At the same time I'm sure that it's a hefty enough sum that they aren't interested in just throwing that revenue away.sounds like that patreon is simply forced to censor or even block games with extreme tags to save themselves from getting sued. maybe that explains as to why they started to block games with incest tags and so on months ago.
jeah, unfortunately. i wish a user here would be working for patreon, so he can give us some insight. The problem is for us on the outside they are a black box. Who knows what they're thinking. The wrong turn was when they started to care about anything more than transfering funds from account A to account B. That should be their only concern.Buy a gun with your mastercard and all is well, but some fake incest cartoons and the world goes to hell.
When sexuality is more criminalised than murder, I think we made a wrong turn somewhere along the way.
We should be able to build up a new kind of payment system that doesn't include visa or mastercard. I think we need a website that works with cryptocurrency and based on patreon to keep things undercovered and without limitations. I'm sure there is people like me that knows more than just simple coding or interested to learn more advanced coding. We got a really huge community and if we want our content not to be blocked, we gotta act ourselves. But still, there will be a huge safety problems with it because I don't think these governments will leave the system alone...This is yet another reason to invest early in cryptocurrency. It is not unthinkable to be used in the future this way too.

Well if they are they are doing a weak job of getting the word out.Who says someone is not working on it now
As a dev I could never get on board with being paid in volatility. Might as well be paying me in stocks and futures. It's enough work putting a game together, marketing it and trying to build up an audience to have to throw market timing and conversions on to it.Developers using HTML5 engines (RPG Maker MV, for example) can try toYou must be registered to see the links. It may be an alternative to reduce dependence on Patreon.
Well like I said we are working on it still. Once we found out the limitations of payment processing as it exists. We changed direction. Now we have a solution but it will still take a few months to get everything in place for it to be easy to use.Well if they are they are doing a weak job of getting the word out.
