HTML Patriarch [v0.14] [Oranos]
playable but too undeveloped ofc . cannot say i get a feel of what is it about... doesnot look like trainer (but some minor management elements)... some sort of quick quest tasks (letters), some scheduled events (phonetexts), some quickies with random gials (clubchicks, pay for training), some datesim elements (girlfriends,dates and 'likes you more'), ... if to fill everything with content and options - probably should work
so i want to advise something but as the games direction is not clear to me - it is hard to do.
some qol things
make plans - should it be inside the telephone? felt akward navigationally.
also i think it is harder for me to read a bright color on black background than otherwise (could it be an option to have some alt options covering it?)
text (as there are 2 survey options related to that issue)
i dont read much in general ( in most sandboxes i just read tips/walkthroughs to have some general understanding of what and why is going on) - so id generally advise to cut some text or spread it via several events/interactions. imo it is a waste of your time unless u intentionally want to lean heavily on VN side (which i dont want u to do : ] ) (check questchain-based rp qsps: soab/big kuyash - during 'events' you have 1 large video frame and a square to fit some text paragraph. and i doubt many ppl actually read it even if wanted to ...simply due to translation ...and i think not much sex scenes descriptions. if any. total overkill for me. i think the only sbx where i more or less read a text was a vnish 'paradise found'. was just a comfy format - no need to skip dozens of lines like in the renpy or scroll down like in htmls, plus overall tolerable amount infront for your eyes)

not sure if i get the premise right - mc is a criminal of sort and interact with some other players in that slave market field.
lets say it will be a quest-based time/location-tracking game. then each npc could get a quest chain leading to her slavery.
all standard motives will work for me. blackmail, put on drugs, debt, money(some voluntary employment in some bdsm-dungeon ...or some body(teeth/boobs)fixing in exchange for slaverish services), kidnapping of a lonely homeless gial or your ex and beating her into submission, some psycologial terrorism to create uber-submissive mentally unstable gial, etc [random gifs works as well but for better immersion u may want to use similar bodies/haircolors with no face angles (like povshots, backshots, close-ups etc) when possible or maybe to add some intro shot with a particular gial as the first gif of larger sequence]
id vote for that, i like tasks and progression (all those paradise ladders and sense of reward when unlocking scenes)
if it is trainer it definitely means scores grinding in order to unlock activities (which i will cheat anyway, that is why im not into trainers,managers and datesims. obviously after i cheat all stats-scores - i reach engame and i will click here and there to see the gifs and will be oversaturated quite soon.
if it is manager. what to do with gials? work the streets? in brothel? porn? dungeons? stripclub? massage parlor? private residences and special guests? can it be observed (peep/spy/quality of services control raids)? can u get serviced yourself at those locations? and even if not - how do u progress here? ofc usually it is something like - get clients - earn cash - upgrade premises - get more clients/cash/rep (same as above, i will just cheat cash)
two above are bit covered for example by the rp qsp: evil 2 ...also html game whoremaker ...well there are some other games which focus on some training-managment, like venus club (stripclub) and i think it is somewhat alive because of user made girls packs. )
so my proclivity for skipping any repetitive routines (aka grind) is the reason why neither of those will work for me. also imo it is hard (or impossible) to make an interesting trainer-manager. everything i saw is quite grindy, straightforward (and non-imaginative/boring) and you hit the wall eventually (and most likely - quite fast).
so i would welcome those elements but only as secondary elements (somewhat anti-blueballing measure, while the mc is engaged in lengthy quest-chain task completion ...or as something 'open-wordish' rng thing. went there - picked that options. but that would work if you fill dozens of locations with dozens of actions, and better with gifs which fits those locations for more immersion)

He isn't, the girlfriends he finds date at the park, he is sweet and accommodating to. And the sex they have leads to them to ask for more, and actually accept to not be the only one. You have to understand, that this game is in a different social reality than the one you are used to, here, women are educated to enjoy aspects of themselvs that may be taboo in some cultures. And furthermore, the pictures that people love to make gifs out of, which is sort of the raw material that creates this game, speak quite clearly what people maybe entertain as a thought by that there might be quite much shame to act out in the real world becaouse people think it would be inappropiate. Actually, women love men who are sexually assertive to them, if it's in the right context and the right time. One aspect, that is perhaps difficult to relate to, myself is how this mc is so impatient, and not at all long-term in some of his engagments with women.
If you are a patreon, then you can access the ability to train slaves, the same way the collage is there to train the female population. The way I think about it, is that it's two diffrent energies that a woman can be. Some guys have hard time to imagine that a woman can be many different type of female stereotypes in bed. In this sense, the differensation between "half-sister", "girlfriends/party girls", and "slaves/sexworkers/prostitues/strippers" is intressting to contemplate. Why does these categories make sense in the world of this game?
This is an HTML game, as such there is a social world that is created, with textual narrative, erotic gifs, is there to complement the narrative. This is actually one could say a cooperation game, and patriarchy is precisely this, men who collaborate with each other. If you ever been with men only, then you know that the sense of competition for women or what have you is no longer there. And the point of the game is the mc is the new patriarch. We already know that in that many people are against patriarchy, and what to destroy it and so on. The problem in that regard, if one care about equality would be that there isn't a strong enough matriarchy. Why would there need to be rivalry within one city?

I think this game has potential, but you're shooting yourself in the foot if you think you can attract interest while instantly beginning with five minutes' worth of paywall-locked content for an alpha version that has all of twenty minutes of play, including the built-in grind and paywalled content.

Are you aware of how much Patreon exclusive content is shared around here?
So let me ask you this: You say that a game that is not supported won't be kept being worked on, but then it sounds like you do not have a lot of passion for your game or your craft. Are you making this game purely for the money?
Also what is your money going towards? Because as far as I can tell it is either pirated images or just images found on the web.
Unless you actually commission your images from the models, but I doubt that. So if we remove your "stolen" images, your writing and coding is left. What are you qualifications for writing and coding? Enough that your skills warrants financial support?
Are you going to abandon your game if it does not receive financial support on Patreon?
I understand you want support, that makes sense. But you need to build a fanbase first and in order to build a fanbase you need something people want. Exclusive content will get pirated, there is not much you can do about that, especially on a forum inhabited by pirates. Voting, behind the scenes / the making of content, previews those are the kind of things that should be reserved for your patreons, because it is the type of content that is less likely to be pirated and leaving voting up to those supporting you gives them something that they can not receive even if they pirate the exclusive content. Also as others have made you aware, locking things behind a paywall is usually something that comes down the line.
You need to show your potential fanbase that you can produce content and deliver patches for bugs consistently. Once people see regular updates and know what to expect from supporting you, you may get higher chance of getting Patreons. Maybe around v0.3 or some such, if you deliver the content in a timely fashion and the game is more substantial, you could look at exclusive content.
First you should fix all the "not currently implemented" sections of the game before working on exclusive content.

No, I don't need a lecture on piracy - I don't have anything against it principally. Yes, I know what the site is - I've been here for many years.
I think you're being unfair - as I've stated multiple times in the thread this is a passion project and I've already sunk many many hours into it, not expecting anything in return. The pace at which I worked to get a first version out though is not feasable for monthly releases as I (just like everyone else) have to pay the bills. The reason for setting up a patreon was to justify it monetarily for me to keep working at a steady pace. These projects takes hundreds of hours, and people expect them to be continously updated - I'm sure you as a modder can apreciate that.
I don't expect anyone to pay me anything - all I do is try to provide incentive to keep developing the game. This gesturing towards percieved greed feels unwarranted, it could be levied against anyone doing creative work of any kind, artists, musicians etc.
I specifically said Do what you want. All I did was implore people to consider that these things have material consequences.

It took some time but I finally created a mod for the first version of the game. I'm not sure how well it will function with the updated version but as long as the file locations are the same, it should work.

Depends on which GIFS:
For the new GIFS: You have play with your browser, online.
For the old GIFS: You have to copy and paste the file into your Patriarch/ folder
The mod is a downgrade from the latest version, although there is some new content. The game dynamics of the new variables is not at all clear. To simply add new variables without thinking about how that impact gameplay is just poor design. And if I just want to browse pictures and gifs online, then I can just google?
The problem weather somthing is legal or illegal, that is to say, if one can get away with it or not, is a problem for weak men. None is principally against piracy. Rather the question is about ethics, that is to say, do you act in a way that creates infinite games. That is to say plus-sum, or not, the core of the piracy movement is about this debate, the idea that the infinite game is more worth ethically than arbitrary laws in some jurisdictions.
