It literally doesn't say anything about their abilities in the article.
"Historically, media has depicted monstrous women as villains, or if not, then less monstrous than males of equivalent ability."
"The trope is historically used strictly negatively and antagonistically as a representation of an ugly, cruel, or deceitful woman; such incarnations often have the woman hide her monstrous traits to deceive others"

This is exactly what I just said. This is describing their role in the story. It's not saying that it's an ability monster girls have.

Just that they were often villains trying to trick the protagonist into letting their guard down, and then they reveal their true appearance. It's not saying that being a deceitful villain is enough to make a person a monster girl.

or if not, then less monstrous than males of equivalent ability."
Then this part is just saying monster girls look less monstrous than males of the same species in most cases. Example, Frankenstein's monster vs his bride.

it is enough when said deeption is said monster girl's inate ability..

but going back to the orcs... the orcs in PQ are nothing but monsters so, since she'd be sharing visual characteristics with th em, a she-orc would be a monster girl.

It doesn't say anything about deception being their ability. Read what it actually says

"such incarnations often have the woman hide her monstrous traits to deceive others"

It doesn't say how they hide their monstrous traits and it even say they don't all do it. This is their role in the story, that it's describing. But it's not saying they have a magical ability to hide their appearance, they could even be hiding their appearance using a simple cloak and mask.

First sentence is saying what the phrase means, second is describing how they are typically used narratively. Third sentence is saying that modern works tend to use them differently narratively. Fourth sentence is saying where they are most common.

So, you're arguing that they have less ability? Notice that this doesn't mention anything about deception. Like I said earlier it's saying that they look less monstrous than males of the same type. It's not saying they have abilities. You're trying to combine two different sentences with two different meanings to try to make your argument.

you say that monster girls have visual traits in common with monsters, I'm simply referencing what makes a onster...from the monster article :They may or may not have supernatural powers, but are usually capable of killing or causing some form of destruction, threatening the social or moral order of the human world in the process.

If you acknowledge that it's about visual traits, why are you mentioning ability? You're still trying to tie into the idea that it's a monster who is a girl instead of a monstrous girl.
storm1051787 let's dial it back.. look at this chart and tell me at what stage it becomes a monster girl..
View attachment 4572772

Stage 2. Everi's daughter is closer to stage 1.

because to share visual traits with a monster saidmonster girl must be the female equivalent of a monster
wrong..as all those characteristics are animal and not monsrous

That doesn't really make any sense, there could be multiple reasons for sharing visual traits. Unless they have the same origin they wouldn't be the same type of monster . Male and female members of a species could also have different traits due to sexual dimorphism.

It's not wrong, it's completely subjective what someone considers outwardly monstrous. Are werewolves not monsters now?
