Better would be a proper alt scene, but beggars can't be choosers.

Alt scenes don't even need to be "good", have a simple drawing of a tea party with your daughters instead of sex. petting the dog instead of fucking it.... you get the idea... make them nice an crude so non idiots will figure out something else "should" go there.
Chibi is practically invented for this.

They just need to share the same names as the taboo content so no errors are displayed.

- Decensor check
--- On: start event.
--- Off: skip event with a simple dialog; Or use some existing non-offensive images for a shorter encounter.
A simple if-else would do. Some existing images could be used for dialog start-end. At worst, only a handful of new images would need to be created.

The images and videos still need to be installed manually anyway. Replace them with non-offensive images would just create more work, and possibly more confusion if they have the same name.

The major work would be locate and modify many events and triggers. Possible bugs. Worst: Tinkerer can't understand his own code... (OK this is a joke based on my own experience with coding).

Another thing would help Tinkerer is not to publicly discuss decensor patch on Patreon. Use PM if need to.

Creating & implementing new images (which is what I pictured for scenes that don't have "safe" alternatives already) and the coding work are what I was thinking would take time and effort. And I know professional coders who regularly have to review their own documentation to remember what their older code did.

Not really, finding them can't be considered difficult when they are all clearly listed in Spicy & Gnome and there isn't any risk of bugs because we aren't modifying any code... my whole point was to stop the error messages when the game is played "AS INTENDED" (from Patreons perspective).

Doing 535 images/45 movies is time consuming sure (using apps like bulk rename can cut that time down), it's not difficult to copy something innocent over those images (in the case of using a plain Black Box any willing volunteer could do it). that could then just be dumped into the base game, to be overwritten by the taboo mods... Goodbye error messages relating to taboo content.

And to be clear when I say Alt images, I'm NOT talking about the fully rendered images Tinkerer normally does, I'm talking about little cartoony sketches that are there only to occupy the "time" the real scenes would occupy, plenty of other games use little Chibi caricatures to represent nonsexual content. I'm not sure you would even need that many if you duplicate some of the map images at the beginning and end of each scene.

I think coding would be the best way to do this (in terms of professionalism), but it is much more complicated & time consuming compared to just dropping some placeholders into the game.

It's required since version 3.51 (or may be earlier) due to Patreon rules. If you do not want incest content (Spicy: Erevi daughter, Shakala daughter, Julia, the Ghost Qetesh) or beastiality (Gnome: Mia, Beth), then you don't need the mods. However, it will not guaranty that you will not recieve error like that. So, install the mod but turn it off (delete or rename the 2 text files).

ah ok a did i believe 3.45 and then partialy to 3.51 and thought it would go the same with 3.61 than it did get errors then i downloaded 3.61 and it still did get errors now it makes abit more sense why

I have a sense Chibi doesn't fit with Tinkerer's aesthetic given the care he puts into non-sexual cutscenes, but your point is valid and helps me understand what you meant with "lower quality" images.

I was thinking that Chibi would be perfect because it was so different from Tinkerers style, makes it ultra clear that you are missing taboo content because you forgot to install the mod (or the mod version you are using is out of date)... But meh, it doesn't really matter, anything is better than error messages.

think the issue is there arent version of her pregnant on the table. Due cant remember seeing them. But i will straight up ask him ones more so if there is a bug , so i will comeback on it.

Hi, how to advance with rosy past FJ? Already done light quest for the temple and forgot to check. Got a FJ from her through special pastry but the "enquiring about boyfriend" dialogue never shown up.

Tinkerer really should fine tune the system. so people who don't want this content don't get the "errors"

Unless I'm misremembering... the system is 'tuned' just fine.
The only condition someone gets the error messages is if they've added the old decensor text file, but not the image & movie files.
So...
They're actively trying to get that content (by adding in the old decensor file), but doing it wrong (because of the new method of decensoring).

Without the decensor text file (which is included in the new patch files), the game glides past any effected scenes just fine.
