Welp, I picked this up and played my way through it. Normally, I tend to leave these up in my backlog for longer before picking them, but I decided to make an exception this time around. Partly because I'm a fan of a certain artist known as Fan no Hitori, and if you know who that is, you know why this little game was bumped up my priority list.
Sadly, this game turned out to be... something of a disappointment and something of a weird game, except not in the way I expected it to be.
What do I mean by that? Well, for all that this is a game supposedly focused on Personality Excretion... the number of scenes with it are lower than I expected and primarily tied to defeat rape and some bad endings. Based on the description, you'd think that it's the protagonist subjecting Sylvie to the stuff the most... but that's not actually the case at all. Indeed, Kane only has 1 such scene with Sylvie...
As if that wasn't enough, the fetish is, in most scenes, actually fairly diluted, albeit for story reasons and whatnot... but it doesn't change the fact that it's weaker than I expected. It's weakened even more by the fact that CGs are reused quite heavily too. On top of that, this game just plain has fewer scenes in general than their previous game, Slave Princess Finne. Furthermore, they added a bunch of other girls and a non-sensical affection mechanic with the MC because... uh... I dunno...
Basically, for a game that supposedly focused on Personality Excretion, it doesn't feel like it at all, and in general, it feels like the game lacks focus. Like the dev just couldn't decide what they wanted to do exactly and to an extent defaulted to their usual stuff even though they made a game that's male protagonist for the 1st time ever.
Moving on, the story is not bad, not great, just sort of is. It doesn't really do anything that new, though I was certainly surprised by the fact that this is apparently a sequel to Heroic Princess Millia. That wasn't hinted about at all in the description or anything... The twists to it all weren't bad tbh, and it serves its purpose well enough. I'm glad at least that the dev didn't hit ALL of the themes in their previous games (like the whole "richest man in the world" shit and the like that was a staple in their last 3 games...), but they could have certainly worked on things a bit more to inject a bit more originality.
The endings are... pretty half-assed tbh. Particularly the good ending and its branches, which depends on the affection of the 4 girls that you can recruit to the party, including Sylvie. Unfortunately, the game doesn't use the highest affection to determine the ending, but rather, it seems to go down the list of girls in order, and the 1st one with 100 affection gets the ending. Which is annoying because it means you have to lower affection to change the ending, rather than raising it for the girl of your choice, and the in-game method of lowering affection is absolute cancer...
I'm honestly surprised the dev didn't add a harem ending too at this point...
Oh, and as is the usual for this dev... the good endings? They're not in the gallery. Have fun with that. :|
As for the gameplay, it's pretty much more or less the same stuff as in the Finne game, only you have a party instead of a single character. They tried to make it more balanced by reducing the gear slots on each character and by implementing a limited passive system and whatnot... but that all falls by the wayside given that there's stat-boosts all over the place, and if you pour them all in a single character (Kane or Sylvie have the best skills tbh), you can easily end up with a character that can solo everything, including the bosses. By the time I reached the final, final, final for real this time boss, my Kane was so strong that he one-shotted said boss with a single crit...
It was quite hilarious to see all the power-up and whatnot lines of the boss when the boss was already dead...
"I'm going to get serious now bla bla" - Sure... you do that... Pft.
Still, the nice thing about it is that it doesn't overstay its welcome, though the fact that it ended up even easier than the Finne game is a tad weird... Granted, given this dev's games before Finne were both about over-powered basically invincible protagonists, I suppose it's not that strange that they still have problems when it comes to balancing things...
Oh, I suppose I should also note the fact that this game is intended to be replayed multiple times to see its various paths... but... uh... it's not really worth it tbh. I recommend going for the good ending and whatnot in the 1st playthrough and just checking out the bad-endings and related extras in the gallery. The game just doesn't have enough depth to it to be worth playing it more than once.
All in all, I suppose the game is "ok", not a terrible time waster, but... it's not particularly great. It fails to be a game focused on a niche fetish, and as mentioned before, it just lacks focus in general. It's an ok H-RPG where you can see a bunch of sluts getting fucked all over the place, and I suppose I can give it some points for having birthing scenes... but that's about all I can say.
I guess that with this game at least, the circle failed to really make something amazing once more.
