All of you are partially correct.

And that's because NTR stories can't really be re-invented; it's like a car - it uses 4 wheels to drive, needs an engine, and an exhaust. The basics will always be the same.


SadPepper is just a victim of having completed more projects than most devs ever will begin in their lifetimes. Kudos for that.

However, some room for experimentation still exists in the finer details; something that Pineapple Express 2 is lacking in - this "fault" becomes more apparent here, as we are now not only seeing another NTR story play out, but this time with repeat characters as well.


All that means is, PE2 had bigger expectations: people wanted to see how their consequences mattered, but then PE2 released and the status of Peter & Julia's relationship got hit with an unwanted reset button that left a lot of heads scratching...

This was SadPepper's chance to go beyond his tropes and shore up some of his weaknesses - instead, the man shuts down his Patreon and decides to slow down for the foreseeable future.

He said he will finish PE2 and ipost it here If he really starts new projects he will search for a partner to help him with renders and animations and set up a new patreon account. Yes, he has his reasons, but it's a shame that one of the best in the field of NTR games is quitting or is no longer as active. It's a real shame.

This is really bad news...

I my opinion this is the very best developer in the NTR world. I love all the games he made. Even Lost in paradise, Exploring the big apple and pineapple express are in my top ten. The games are long enough to go through the story. I think they have the perfect length. The big games either are 3/4 slow burning and only 1/4 interesting or all in from the start then a lot of scenes with nothing to add and the shorters just pass in five minutes and ten minutes later you completely forgot about the game existence.

Just stop guessing what really happened. It's useless and ig the dev wasn't clear enough it's because he didn't want to be public.
I think he's wrong about the F95 leaking. No software succeeded avoiding the free version. Windows easily cracked with q keygen or copies like tiny win11, games are always cracked even the newest consoles can be chipped to accept games not from allowed channel. The apps are modded with plus versions also streaming are easily cracked. F95 is not a problem in fact is the biggest help.
If the game is only in Patreon nobody ever is going to know about the existence and if fortuitously someone cross the dev site no way he become supporter without trying the game. The top successful devs always share with F95 and most of them even are active members.
The real problem is the devs are atoms. At least q bunch of geeks spending the day in the basement typing in a PC and wanking.
They should create a 'Club', a Union or some kind of association to improve. Like fighting a Patreon's (or whoever) politics, getting sponsors, agreements and other interest like moving Renpy in some way, etc.
There are a plenty of ways to make it much more profitable than the supporters.
