Yeah it removes the point of this being a sequel. This might as well be a different game or title entirely. Sequels are supposed to have narrative continuation to the previous title. What's the point of having Pineapple Express 2 if Cornell is out of the picture?Glad someone sees the massive missed potential. Cornell seems to have been written off for the sequel, which makes this whole storyline even less... logical. If you told me that this was a prequel to the Pineapple Express, I would've believed it - nothing about the current story & trajectory tells me this is a sequel; more contrived scenarios (after 6 years of not seeing each other at all, Mrs. Johnson wants Julia to work as a manager??) just to place the same couple in more Cuckolding/Cheating/Sharing moments...
I think I will be passing on this game, and unsubbing from Dimajio/SadPepper for the duration of the development. This is the exact opposite of what a SEQUEL should be (not just a chronological continuation of events).
Nope. Cornell has travelled to NYC. Before you asked me I legit thought Cornell was going to be on the cruise with that HR lady, but it seems Cornell is not going to be a part of PE2.Cornell is outta the picture ? wait he's coming to the cruise right ?
Exactly. There is practically nothing connecting the story of the sequel to PE1 - other than the contrived scenario of Mrs. Johnson offering Julia a job. This is not what it means to make a sequel series...Yeah it removes the point of this being a sequel. This might as well be a different game or title entirely. maybe he manages it by cutting out some scenes and not adding countless others. One thing that does concern me. There are so many options, will the dev be able to handle all these variables and routes?
Julia's shenanigans was the best part of first game. And I'd love see more risky sexy Julia.I wasn't talking about the kid questioning her own paternity, but seeing tensions/complications arise from the fact that Julia had Cornell's daughter. Her appearance alone a living reminder every day that she is not Patrick's biological daughter. It takes a toll on a person, no matter if you adopt her as your own.
But since the dev decided it's a "no biggie", the story of PE2 is basically just more of Julia's shenanigans. In which case, I don't really see the point of this game at all - could've just as easily replaced all the characters with new, original ones.
There is nothing "risky" with this at all. The first part (and other games of the dev) were about establishing her cheating and her cuckolding with him, he had to learn about it to cope with it to detect it and to get in line with it. Nothing of that here - they already have gone through all that last time. So it's just a repetition, nothing new for him and for their rleationship, that's the problem. If you just want to see a character getting banged you don't need a story for that. And I'd love see more risky sexy Julia.
This is the reason of sequel.
The first game's story served to change the paradigm between Julia and Peter - he got into cuckolding/sharing/cheating because of the events in PE1.Julia's shenanigans was the best part of first game. And I'd love see more risky sexy Julia.
