Yeah it removes the point of this being a sequel. This might as well be a different game or title entirely. Sequels are supposed to have narrative continuation to the previous title. What's the point of having Pineapple Express 2 if Cornell is out of the picture?

Nope. Cornell has travelled to NYC. Before you asked me I legit thought Cornell was going to be on the cruise with that HR lady, but it seems Cornell is not going to be a part of PE2.
It's looking like PE2 will happen on that ship, and that's it (2 weeks of in-game time) - no Cornell, and no Penelope. This is just Julia & Patrick again, with nothing new to change the dynamic from the first game at all.

Exactly. There is practically nothing connecting the story of the sequel to PE1 - other than the contrived scenario of Mrs. Johnson offering Julia a job. This is not what it means to make a sequel series...

I'm glad the dev decides to go back to one of his story. His works always have good build up, and end too soon in my opinion.
If it had been 18 years later and he had a beautiful young daughter similar to her motherin my opinion it would have been much better
as in Pandora’s Box 2 because without it we already saw everything in the first part even the same mother father friend models as in the game above would be enough

Simon has a weird uncanny valley face. It's like someone slapped a photoshopped photo of a real person onto him, he looks totally out of place from everyone else.
Julia's shenanigans was the best part of first game. And I'd love see more risky sexy Julia.

There is nothing "risky" with this at all. The first part (and other games of the dev) were about establishing her cheating and her cuckolding with him, he had to learn about it to cope with it to detect it and to get in line with it. Nothing of that here - they already have gone through all that last time. So it's just a repetition, nothing new for him and for their rleationship, that's the problem. If you just want to see a character getting banged you don't need a story for that.

The first game's story served to change the paradigm between Julia and Peter - he got into cuckolding/sharing/cheating because of the events in PE1.
PE2 is a "sequel" to this game in number only - everything will repeat the exact same way, as nothing new was introduced; Peter has experienced all the feelings he can in the first part already. What's exciting about watching Julia with another man 6 years after already going through it?
The dev is literally using the name "Pineapple Express" to hook in more fans, nothing else connects this story to PE1.
