The first game's story served to change the paradigm between Julia and Patrick - he got into cuckolding/sharing/cheating because of the events in PE1.

PE2 is a "sequel" to this game in number only - everything will repeat the exact same way, as nothing new was introduced; Patrick has experienced all the feelings he can in the first part already. What's exciting about watching Julia with another man 6 years after already going through it?

The dev is literally using the name "Pineapple Express" to hook in more fans, nothing else connects this story to PE1.

Glad someone sees the massive missed potential. Cornell seems to have been written off for the sequel, which makes this whole storyline even less... logical. If you told me that this was a prequel to the Pineapple Express, I would've believed it - nothing about the current story & trajectory tells me this is a sequel; more contrived scenarios (after 6 years of not seeing each other at all, Mrs. Johnson wants Julia to work as a manager??) just to place the same couple in more Cuckolding/Cheating/Sharing moments...

I think I will be passing on this game, and unsubbing from Dimajio/SadPepper for the duration of the development. This is the exact opposite of what a SEQUEL should be (not just a chronological continuation of events).

A sequel is supposed to build upon what happened earlier, to get further in the organic development of the characters. If you just exchange names and faces you are doing a remake. Also it's not plausible psychologically that the couple is doing exactly the same making exactly the same experience 6 years later. One gets the feeling already in this first episode of the sequel that they never really talked about what happened. It's just that they despise Cornell because he ghosted them, but it's apperently not about their own relationship and what that meant for themselves.

A sequel is supposed to build upon what happened earlier, to get further in the organic development of the characters. If you just exchange names and faces you are doing a remake. Also it's not plausible psychologically that the couple is doing exactly the same making exactly the same experience 6 years later. One gets the feeling already in this first episode of the sequel that they never really talked about what happened. It's just that they despise Cornell because he ghosted them, but it's apperently not about their own relationship and what that meant for themselves.

It is logical as from the start of PE 1 the dev make it clear that cornell-julia are temporaly.It was obvious in one way or other miss johnsson will discover their plan and punish him by take him back with her to keep him on her radar.

They didn't directly speak about it indirectly by saying,they will not staying more than 2 days they make it clear they will not play the same game.I think even Julia told him she didn't like that played the comdy more that was planned and Cornwell have tricked them many time.

I don't thing the game will be bad without him so i wouldn t worry.

They're not stupid. If you read the beginning of PE1 carefully, you'll see that they were cuckolds from the start, and their impulses are controlling their brains. They just don't know it themselves. All their stupid choices are choices they made because they actually wanted to. They just deceive themselves, rationalizing it for other reasons.

The 'cuckold' I used was just as a general term for a fetish where someone finds sexual satisfaction in their partner having sex with someone else. Looking at the very beginning of PE1, Peter's subconscious wants Julia to have sex with Cornell, and her subconscious wants this too. Especially, she gets even more sexually aroused by her fiancé's excitement about that fantasy. The couple makes choices that anyone can obviously see will lead to stupid 'shenanigans', and they have sex because they're excited by their choices. This shows that the dev is indicating that their choice isn't rational, but driven by the impulse of their fetish.

Edit: I just checked it: yes, indeed that was the case, and he was punished for not following her instructions. Humiliation was clearly part of all that and he was enjoying exactly that (according to his own thoughts).
Your definitions again dilute by mixing open relationship and swinging with cuckolding via the term "sharing" which can mean everything or nothing. On the other hand they contaminate the classic cuckolding fetish by using the idea of "force" which evokes wrong associations. He is clearly losing control, and that is exactly what happens in PE1, but this doesn't happen against his own will.

I also would have liked that scenario - but 1. in that case the paternity of the kid would be an important plotpoint and motive: she being angry that she was not even informed of her having a grandchild 2. otherwise she should have been more angry about Cornell her own son being behind all the lying and not the couple. So why directing the anger against them? Also she initially didn't invite Peter.

Let make it simple.Player have right to be upset but we can't tell the dev to not remove character and which ones.Whateve he do people complain,new or keep old stuff.

What? Pineapple Express 2 is not a prequel - it's a "sequel" that does nothing to explore new themes or new situations with familiar characters - like a proper sequel should.

I'm not telling the dev what he should do, I'm expressing various other plot points he could've followed instead. Plots that would've advanced or refreshed the story in new ways... instead of whatever the fuck this will turn into.

A reminder:

1. Julia & Peter have a kid in most of the "canons" - irrelevant to the story.
2. Julia & Peter have been married for 6 years now - irrelevant to the story, they're once again forced to pretend like they're not together.
3. Cornell has been replaced with Simon

Tell me, what's actually happening in PE2 that's different to PE1 in any way, shape, or form??
