What? Pineapple Express 2 is not a prequel - it's a "sequel" that does nothing to explore new themes or new situations with familiar characters - like a proper sequel should.

I'm not telling the dev what he should do, I'm expressing various other plot points he could've followed instead. Plots that would've advanced or refreshed the story in new ways... instead of whatever the fuck this will turn into.

A reminder:

1. Julia & Peter have a kid in most of the "canons" - irrelevant to the story.
2. Julia & Peter have been married for 6 years now - irrelevant to the story, they're once again forced to pretend like they're not together.
3. Cornell has been replaced with Simon

Tell me, what's actually happening in PE2 that's different to PE1 in any way, shape, or form??

For the moment it's utterly boring, watching a guy fuck his wife is the most annoying thing you can get. The first game was great but it seems that we are starting all over again and not going on with the story and getting to an upper level.
So this one will just be a clone of the previous one with some differences or will we get something reall good.

The dev has still all (rather: most) possibilities in his own hands. Nothing is really irreversibly lost at this point. His patreon statements don't need to be carved in stone. Revenge/kid/Cornell could still be involved. It's mostly the interaction between the couple that we witnessed up to now, and here he could easily deliver something deeper in the coming episodes (including flashbacks? It's rather strange that we get to know nothing at all about their sexual relationship over the last 6 years. After those incidents they just shouldn't have been able to return to a perfectly normal monogamous sex life, but you never know...). Let's hope. The dev is one of the best.

But for this sequel I was hoping a total new story and some new atmosphere, not the boring black rich family, but always with our great, slutty wife.
For example, taking the money's problem of the original story:
1) Wife start to work "at home" as youtuber, she's noted by a TV producer and...

2) Wife goes a career in the crime, starting to thief little things and going on as a high level scammer, defrauding rich men...

3) Wife, who has always had a knack for seduction and charm, suggests to MC that they create a service providing personalized performances for these events. She becomes the star of artistic and sensual shows (like burlesque or dance performances), while MC handles logistics, music, and promotion. But in the while Wife rediscover her slutty side...

Introduction of Simon, location of Peter and Julia's cabin and camera presence suggest there will be some initial retread. However we've also been introduced to a biker bar owner. I see possibilities for new ground there.

I mean... the dev already said that Cornell is off to New York - so he won't be participating in the cruise. And the cruise lasts for 2 weeks. Something tells me that the majority of the game will happen on that cruise ship (dimajio is not the kind of dev to create such lavish enviroments unless they're central to the game - he doesn't have the time or the resources to do that).

I hope to be wrong fellas, but so far, everything (from the gameplay to dev's own words) point to PE2 just being a recycled PE1.

P.S.: What about the biker bar? It's a different scene, but not a different enough scenario - what could she possibly do in the bar that the couple hasn't experienced already?? That's the whole bloody point!

I think the biker wasn't present on every path.I know the scene u get with him on loyal path is,peter can exib julia pussy to him or not while she peter a BJ in the car.

I agree, I just meant it as a sort of appeal to the dev. Also I dont want to be too harsh cause I'm in for the long game which is for me a real sequel to Exploring the big Apple...

That's the option on every path - if you choose to expose her, you meet him again, if you choose not to expose her, you don't meet him again.

I did a quick run through to see if it felt like there was any worth in it. To be honest though, I get the impression that it doesn't really matter what you pick to start with, as it will only be some dialogue changes around whether you're married, whether you have a kid, what colour skin the kid has, etc., and then the actual differences you'll see are from the choices made once you start playing. So I imagine you can have the exact same playthrough (minus those small dialogue differences) on the "vanilla" path as you can on the "cuckold/cheating/sharing" paths.

For the most part, you do have to give it two or three updates, I agree. Though for some, one update is more than enough to tell it's not going to work!

The first game's story served to change the paradigm between Julia and Peter - he got into cuckolding/sharing/cheating because of the events in PE1.

PE2 is a "sequel" to this game in number only - everything will repeat the exact same way, as nothing new was introduced; Peter has experienced all the feelings he can in the first part already. What's exciting about watching Julia with another man 6 years after already going through it?

The dev is literally using the name "Pineapple Express" to hook in more fans, nothing else connects this story to PE1.

thats not really true...in my playtrough i played vanilla...so no cuck,sharing ect....everybody can play how the player like and thats good so^^
