Which version of the game is the recommended one to play?
I see there's the fan, Steam, and official TLs but no explanation on the differences.

The fan translation and the official translation are only subtly different (official version drops honorifics, refers to lolis as "midgets", etc.).

I'm not sure what the difference is between the "Steam" version and the (non-Steam) "Official" version, maybe the latter just has slightly less piracy involved?

I mean, it's pixel art. If there was any censorship removed I barely noticed the difference.

Probably not since it seems like it's still in mid-development, and while he posts updates it doesn't seem like it's near the finish line (afaik)
