From what good old Hino posts, I really can't tell if we're looking at an imminent update or if we're still at sea... I'd like to ask you... what's different about the versions posted on previous pages compared to the "base" game?

It's proof the game is being worked on. And it's a necessary next step if the plan is to only release once the Elite 4 are complete. Victory Road is probably next. Swimmer music was previewed, so there will be Trainers on Route 18, as well as the other Water Routes. I'd expect Ace Trainers, too. They'd also get in the way of a run through to show off the map.

FamiliarStranger Just ignore this user (and the other one whose name I forgot and don't care to remember, whenever they appear again). It's trying to get more attention by trolling with these kind of comments, so it's best not to get to their level.

I should say this just once so, like you just said, this thread doesn't get more cluttered up than it has to.

and also the disadvantages of not putting up the sign?
I've always noticed that some people are incredibly impatient to mark it as "abandoned"..

No there is no benefit too it honestly. It just means that the Developer has no intention of working on it anymore. Which in this case the DEV actually is. They are if anything just a little slow at it

The whole point of a playtest to prevent it from 'bricking someone's save' is to have only a few people test it before it becomes available to the general public.

Is there somewhere you can read the rules of what it can be tagged as? Since idk if it fits the "On-Hold" condition, if that is even the correct case for that or if there are other such tags besides these 2. No malice or anything, just curiosity (and maybe a solution for the "Mark it as abandoned" people).

Issue with what you suggest though. Is its technically not even on hold as it is being worked on actively. So its not on hold or abandoned its just taken a while. (Maybe little too long even imo) Between updates

It's up to whoever maintains the thread. Arguing about whether it should be flagged as abandoned or whatever is pointless.

You do realize that maps don’t come pre-loaded with content, right? It’s like buying a blank canvas; it doesn't come with pre-drawn pictures. You're right that making that video might have taken a minute, but designing the map most likely took weeks if not months. As a developer myself, I can tell you that even a basic landing page takes hours if you build everything from scratch without prebuilt assets or frameworks.

Which this game isnt. Its not abandoned. Its not on hold. Because Hino is actively working on it.

Honestly, I just hope the dev hasn't mapped out the next update on Pokemon Essentials where Cheat Engine is useless to use

no true you just have to use the Pokemon essentials tutorial trick its something like Double the number +1 then cheat engine works fine Or maybe I'm confusing this for Pokemon fusions I'll test it but I think the same rule that works for fusions should work with this

According to the rules:

3. Prefixes

1. On-hold: used for a developer who temporarily stops working on a game for whatever reason and makes a clear public statement about it, if they do not resume work in 6 months the prefix is changed to Abandoned.
2. Abandoned: used in the following cases:
   • The developer states that the development has been permanently suspended.
   • After 3 months of inactivity from the developer's public creator/crowdfunding accounts (Patreon, SS, etc), we will resolve special circumstances or scenarios on a case-by-case basis (no creator accounts, creators developing for free, Patreon accounts under review/ban).
   • No game update has been released for an abnormally long period of time (>18 months).
   • Game threads that are marked On-hold for over 6 months with no game update.
   • Note: this prefix is only removed upon the release of a new update for purchase/download.
